Question re: reader notifications?

So when you post a chapter, do all your readers get a notification? Or how does that work exactly? I feel like I've forgotten how this works, partly because I had to take a break for a few months from writing last year.

And if they do get notified, do they still get that notification if the new chapter isn't at the end, near the most recent stuff? (Like for example if you added the chapter right in the middle of existing chapters?)

They only get notified about a new chapter if they turn notifications on in that reading list. By default, they will not get notified about new chapters.

Anytime you release a new chapter, it will let readers know.
Thank you.

And thanks to you also.

OK, I forgot to follow up on this...

You know how youtube videos people are always claiming some people aren't seeing their videos, or that subscribers sometimes get dropped or... mess result? Does that ever happen here too?

It can but usually that has to do with a lack of consistent uploads. Anything can do well here but it may take 70+ chapters before you start to build a large following.

If you write GB stuff (at least that worked for me) then yes, fairly quickly. Otherwise it's a slow slog (two stories have less than 10 and one has 11).
Yeah, I'm seeing that. But, it's still early for me. I'm writing a horror, crime series. it just takes time...
