Question about side stories and main story

Hello, I've been meaning to ask a few questions since I have two series; My main story and my side stories.

1.) Should I start with my main story or side stories first? As the my side stories are basically retellings told in a different PoV or flashbacks to an event. My main stories, however, are also connected to the side stories in a certain way and are just as important.

2.) How many parts should a side story consist of? Should they be short (below 5 parts) or long (5 parts or longer)?

Main story first, and from there, you can branch out to side stories that would take up space or feel like filler within the main plotline.

I don't think there are any hard criteria for how long side stories must be or whatnot.

I haven't read your stories yet, but wouldn't it make more sense to dedicate one chapter to each POV and merge it into a single story? More or less like in the Song of Ice and Fire, where G.R.R. Martin writes the same event multiple times from different POVs.
