Hmmm... Writing Tips are useful, but if I were to separate the type of tips like, plot, character, world building, how to do certain scenes (fight/sex) etc etc, there could be 10s of prefixes.

But at the very least, since most of us self edit, I think there could be two broad categories of tips, "Writing" and "Editing".

Thread about narrative histories, characterizations, planning and style etc. falls in the category of 'Writing' tips

Threads about grammar, sentence structures, syntax and re-writing or revision methods. etc would be the later "Editing" tips

Of cause there will be something the falls in between, such as narrative structures, how to trim scenes and how much is too much, and what is plot pacing, that kinda topic I'd say sit somewhere in between.

But having the two prefixes "Writing" and "Editing" in Discussions & Writing Tips would be nice.

What exactly is the feature request? You looking for an editor or something?

"Prefix" refers to the title tag you can put in the titles of threads in certain subforums - for example, in the title of this thread, the prefix is a yellow "Feature Request" tag. This is a way for people browsing forums to quickly understand what exactly the thread is about without clicking through.

Cascadian is asking for prefixes to be added to the Discussions & Writing Tips forum, specifically a Writing prefix and an Editing prefix, to mark if threads are discussing the creative act of writing itself or looking for input on the more technical/editing side of writing.
That makes more sense now. Thanks.

within the context of this thread, no, I am not looking for an editor. But I am definitely looking for something.

:blob_hmm::blob_hmm_two:... irony is if I had an editor for my thread posts, they would have told me to add that preamble to my opening, and consider the fact that there are people that have no idea what prefixes are.

if they're re here they straight up tell me if I am am using 'irony' correctly too....

Sure, done!
