Posting one chapter first.

I was wondering if posting one chapter early to get attention, then the next chapters after I've written maybe 5-10 of em is a good idea? What are the pros and cons if I do this?

Cons, people will forget about the existence of your novel. Make a small stockpile of chapters before you start releasing them. Good idea is to release a couple of chapters daily in the beginning. Then, if your schedule allows it, release one chapter every two days, to maximize the chance of getting into trending.

It's best to release enough words for people to get the gist of your story. Like if you have a prologue, better get out at least 1 chapter while your story is in latest series(cause that's when a lot of people will click out of interest). Just make sure the few chapters you release at the start are enough to hook people into the story.

Thanks! I really didn't feel good about my idea. Plus I hadn't read much about how the trending system works in Scribblehub. I just took the lazy way out and asked.

It doesn't make much difference, but do make sure not to post all your stockpiled chapters simultaneously. 2-4 hours in between. That way, you can stay on the Latest Release tab for longer, and people in different time zones will see it.
