You need a "Sometimes". Because usually, I'm not but there will be things that I am super freaking obsessively detailed about to the point that I end up rereading everything I wrote before in a story just to make sure I'm not retconning something.

I often spend alot of months just dwelling on the details of a single plot and making outlines before the actual writing so I would say yes.

Not sure if I count since I vaguely make a plan I keep on changing to suit whatever I’m writing in the moment. Not meticulous. Just have a bad memory and need notes for consistency.

"Pantser" in this instance refers to writers that do not plan their stories ahead of time, instead just figuring things out as they go. It's from the idiom "by the seat of your pants", which... means to do something without a plan ?
