Ainz basically reminisced and admitted he used to do the exact same thing as the adventurers with his friends, then went total bitch and decided to kill them, using one as an experiment because he was curious whether "faith" was an actual prerequisite to using some divine, supposedly god-given power. The one girl whom they BEGGED him to spare was let escape but them killed off on her way home or something.
I watched that whole episode thinking, "You hypocritical, bitch ass, pathetic little cunt."
I am FINE with utmost cruelty showed to those who earned it. Like i guess he used the logic, "well if it were me and my friends we would've died to the Boss monster too." but he knows this is all real now and still chose to be a dick about it.
MC is a great villian, but not the one you want to win. He has no reason to be so wantonly cruel towards anyone and any arguement that he's a monster so he is losing his"emotion" doesnt work for me because he would still have "reason." and it feels like he isnt being "reasonable" but just a bitch.
He;s the kind of villain you just dont like and only the supporting case is interesting to me. Who really wants to watch a villain conquer the world who has no justifiable reason to be so heartless and unmerciful? Its not about any idealogy on his part, its just....i dunno man. Like i said, he seems to just be playing a role and nothing more. Being evil just for it's own sake or doing evil things simply to satisfy his own curiosity. Doesnt even take PLEASURE in it.
Yeah, I see. In S4 he says he's doing it for the happiness of those he cares about. So himself and the only things remaining of his guildmates, the NPCs. And since a majority of them despise humans, well...
He doesn't care about anyone in the new world unless they can benefit him somehow. Those adventurers were dead as soon as they stepped in his space. He used them for his own purposes and npc happiness.
I mean, that's pretty evil, right? pure selfishness.
If you watched that far and got turned off, the show might not be for you.
He continues to do evil things, like playing that role sort of unwittingly. His 'redeeming' qualities may not satisfy some.
His perception of his own actions is lacking.
I watch it cause its dark, it shows fruitless struggle against an OP enemy. But theres also the power fantasy aspect of it, which he abuses.
