okay I'll try to redo his part, and its a boyBetter, though the girl will still be blend into the background if it’s thumbnail size.
I’d use a dark bluish purple for her profile contour
Oh. Well it’s a bit ambiguous. The face looks mature with the cheekbones but the neck is very petite compared to the head size (the purple shading makes it look even slimmer). There is also a size difference with the other character which makes him look feminine.okay I'll try to redo his part, and its a boy.
yep a 13-14 year old frail boy(slave).Oh. Well it’s a bit ambiguous. do you mean teenage age when you say boy?
Children have different proportions from adults and have baby fat cheeks. less cheekbones contour and setting the eyes lower will make him look younger.yep a 13-14 year old boy.
That was something i was afraid of. I need to resize it once and check.I like the "watercolor" aesthetic. reminds me of 1960's 1970's covers. A bygone era.
I think the font might get funny when viewed small. we have pretty small cover art images here, as compared to other places.
I read "Abaddon" as "Abandon", and that's at this full size. Thumbnail, it will get harder to make out.
He is thin, frail, and malnourished, the baby fat cheeks still apply in this case?Children have different proportions from adults and have baby fat cheeks. less cheekbones contour and setting the eyes lower will make him look younger.
I am confused, where did the dialogue stuff come fromc37. Looks like you;re doing same/similar that I do. Just in-line instead of separated into paragraphs. We no longe have to worry abut wasted papers as a resource. digital paper is free. So I go with a blank line between every paragraph, every dialogue. Too easy, too clear. Easy to read. Same with in-line dialog tags. No need. There's nothing to conserve, that being ink or paper.

The character is still too blended with the background. Try to use Analogous color to make your character have different values and depth. I prefer your first one. There's too much white on the cover where you can paint fully; it doesn't work. You can go with the first one, which is fully painted.
The word "Abaddon" overlaps with the stars because the center, basically the letter "D," The white fill inside the letters overlaps the sketchy red lines of the star creates messy visual tangents. It draws the eye for the wrong reasons. It's bad for readability. Try to avoid this with full paint; you can try to use different colors so that they don't overlap, which can make a distraction in people's minds. And the letter "D" is almost the same as the letter "O."
Stretch Test.
Try to read your cover away from your computer screen to test the readability.
Or try to see your cover as a thumbnail.
Just googled and the kind of malnourishment you want to imply would have the face look close to a skullThat was something i was afraid of. I need to resize it once and check.

oops. I was in a DIalogue style thread. My boss picking me up for work was beeping as I finished that post. My bad, may pygmies eat my flesh.I am confused, where did the dialogue stuff come from![]()

I guess, i packed too much for a small thumbnail.I still can barely see the characters, and that's with the huge version. While I like the cover, it doesn't do you any favors attracting viewers, IMO.
yep. Abaddon is not visible and characters too.View attachment 46976
Do you see the problem here?
