By any chance, are you from the Philippines? The story seems oddly familiar to what I know about Chinese schools in that country.
Really? First time I heard of Chinese schools here handing out such kind of corporal punishment. Please do tell your friends that if ever they got corporal punishment, they could always report to the nearest Department of Education office and the lawyers there would be more than happy to prosecute cases against our erring co-workers...even if they are in Chinese schools.

Well, it's true that there are some cases of teacher abuse here, but they get called out and punished if they ever do that. Sometimes students and their parents even make up stories to get back at the teacher they don't like, and our Department of Education would be quick to punish the poor teacher without proper investigation.

Filipino teachers are always being reminded to be careful with their students, or risk our licenses revoked even with just shouting at them. Though, yeah, there are some exceptions, but generally, we are afraid of our students.

By the way, I have another one. In my country, you're supposed to attend high school when you're 13 and graduate at 17. And we have moral studies, which is one of the pointless subject ever along with gender studies. It was boring but not really torturing the first three years. You're supposed to memorize the 36 values (it may have been more or less than this number, I forgot) like believe in God and freedom of speech. During the exam, you're to apply the values in the situations given. It was so repititive if we had to study this in university, it would have been a one-off subject that students have to study for a semester and just forget about it altogether after the semester's over. But I digress.

It started to turn bad during the fourth year of my high school. Enters Mr I. Now this guy's kind of overweight, I think he and our equally obese principal are to reason the school didn't push healthy eating as much as other schools do. Anyway, Mr I couldn't be bothered to teach us the pointless subject. He told us that we should start to be indipendent now that we're fourth years or some shit like that, I don't exactly remember what he said. The point is, he wants us to form groups of four members each (shrunk to two during the fifth and final years) and do presentations to the class by writing the values on large pieces of paper.

Every time, and it's literally every time, mind you, one of the group is done with their presentation, he would be all sarcastic and tell them that they did a good job and told the rest of us to applause. After that, he'll start to berate them for all the mistakes they did sternly. As far as I remember, he was never satisfied with any of the presentations. Maybe it's because he has a weirdly high standard for a subject that his students could care less about.

One time, the format for our exam has changed all of a sudden, and the whole class and the class next to ours who also has Mr I as their moral teacher got low marks. As you might have imagined, Mr I blew his top. We could hear him yelling at our neighbour class, since they had moral studies one day before us. And on the next day, it was our turn.

Honestly, he's not a bad teacher. I'ts just that he took a pointless subject way too seriously.

Wow. seems American schools are more balanced. It's just as likely for a student to be royally screwed over and ruined, as it is for a student to mess with a teacher's career. So...it's more of a stalemate here rather than favoring either side.

Oh wow Gender Studies. I dated a girl briefly who was in this curriculum in uni and WOW.....

The stuff women were learning in that class...dude....its like they were brainwashing and training a new generation of women for misandry-related purposes. I could feel her attitude changes towards me from before she walked into the classroom and then after when we would meet up afterwards in the mess hall. Uni's are nothing but indoctrination stations nowadays and trying to be neutral is all but impossible if you want to have a "social college life" on-campus. Luckily I'm not a big fan of people in general, so this didn't hurt me at all.

I've had a lot of shitty teachers, but none that have infuriated me like that. It's up an I don't care attitude to teaching that really ruined a subject that I actually enjoyed. Well, maybe one infuriating teacher. I had a Spanish teacher who for the life of her could not teach. She was really passionate about the idea of teaching and she was really good at Spanish, but she could not teach. She would work really hard to give us a lot of practice for tests and such, but the stuff on the test would be stuff we never covered. Stuff that wasn't even in the general area of the coursework. We kept complaining and she acknowledged her failure but still said that we should be more motivated to find the information online. There were like 3 or 4 try hards in all of her Spanish classes that she held up on a pedestal since they spent an ungodly amount of time studying for her class specifically. They were basically learning on their own. Both parents and students complained about her, but there were no alternatives since she was the only IB Spanish teacher.

Ugh...as much as I hate to admit it, our admins favor the students than us. Add the piles of paperwork and responsibilities that other government agencies should do (such as counting ballots during elections), it's no wonder why we look at ourselves as underpaid and overworked. That's why a lot of teachers who could find a job abroad jump at the latest opportunity.

while we're on the subject, what do they teach in the class? I've only heard that it's bad, but what do they even cover?

And, since we're talking about bad experiences here, let me share my story about one student of mine.

See, back in 2017, he had this class adviser named Miss M. Now Miss M is a new teacher during that time, and she was the darling of the school because she's pretty and kind...

...well, apparently.

See, this student I'm talking about is like the black sheep of his class. Always getting involved in fights and spends a lot of his time in the guidance office. Miss M hated him, even going as far as telling him that "You're a future criminal!".

Then, when the time for them to move to a higher grade, a lot of his teachers gave him a failing mark. And he was retained in Grade 8.

A year later he became my student. He was the same old black sheep of his class. But then, I gave him the duty of keeping the class in order and trusted him with some responsibility. You know what? That student changed for the better.

As he was a child without a father figure, I almost became one to him and that ended with me guiding him as long as I'm around. I guess, unruly students need someone who would stand by and understand them.

He is now a working student, far from the unruly troublemaker that he was before. That guy even gifted me with a tattoo. ???

F*ckin hell...I suddenly missed my students...

Well I wouldn't consider it better here, since violence is much more common. It's very common for a student to assault a teacher, and vice versa. Whereas people seem hesitant where you are at, not so in America. I guess we are a violent people. I dunno. I've seen my fair share of teacher-student fisticuffs. That and I've even been in one myself. I spent two months going back and forth to trial hearings to explain why my teacher was hurt in the way he was. The only reason I got off of anything serious is that I had numerous witnesses willing to testify that I was not the aggressor in the situation.

There was actually documentation of it and I might can find old newspaper clippings of it online because I remember reading the article myself at a cornerstore.

Oh wow, your school too? I remembered in my old class, a bunch of boys were having an argument with a bunch of guys outside of school during the class through the window and shit, the teacher couldn't care less. Then shit went south and the boys ran out of the school in five to beat the guys outside, I think one of the guys managed to run back home as he lived close but the classmates thrashed his house and tried to drag him out.

Then there was the time where some boys stole a bunch of trolleys and use the ramps in school for fun.

And I accidentally crashed into an orgy in the grassfield... should had stayed... nah probably would get knifed like the guy I saw when I first went into school.

Then I got my nose fractured and bleeding once, my mother called the cops and once they heard it is my school, they said "AGAIN?!" and straight up point at my face and said "YOU ARE THE FUCKING PROBLEM!" Guess even the local enforcers hated my school.

Now that I think about it, those were fun times, even the times where I was bleeding on the ground as one of the girls who "helped" me up actually was trying to find my wallet while the other one was just looking for a gossip or joke to tell.

We had three disciplinary masters and one was carrying a baton always. The other two had the facial expression of someone in debt to them.

Well, all of my former students are now my close friends...though we rarely hang out nowadays because of the pandemic.

Some of them had made a viral video about our class. ?

I guess we have our 'good' and 'bad' sides.

But no matter. I still love teaching. ?

My school was in Brooklyn so yeah..... violence was an everyday thing in and out of school. We New Yorkers aren't the nicest. Wish I could have stayed in North Carolina. I stayed there for 2 years to work and loved it. People make fun of the southern United States, but those who do are dumbasses or are just jealous. It's way better down there than in the North. I envy Southerners.

You haven't seen shit yet. Now i am going to tell you story of a time far far away in a place far far ago.

You see in my {correspondant}'s time in university professors had no power.
To get you picture imagine a really cliche delinquent fighting anime. Imagine those teachers.
So stuff like this happened.
Teachers had to check dorm room so clearly the only way to do that was to call special forces.(I don't mean like FBI or CBI or shit i mean like anything which wasn't city police. Maybe state police or nation police. Any type of police which did not live in the city but was stationed from outside) I am not making this shit up. If teachers went in dorm for checking. Students would literally turn off the light and beat the shit out of them. Normal police also did not go there cause they were corrupt and they might also get same treatment.

If you got cheating in exam then you did not face punishment . No your equipment which got used for cheating just got confiscated for duration of exam. Apparently that was punishment enough cause no one knew shit in this university and without cheating notes failing was certain.

There were one or two people living in dorms who never paid or weren't registered.
One guy joined mid session the person who managed the dorm had to put his name as attending from starting or he would get beaten.

Professors organized parties for students (I think once a year or shit). If the party was not good enough then at night when professor was surrounded someone will switch off the light and professors might get beaten.

Then there was ragging not the usual bullying high quality ragging.
Literally ever male first year . I don't mean "literally" as in exaggeration .literally as in every single first year had at one point in first year had to strip down to his underwear in public (well inside university).

First years were hidden from third years (common excuse being he is visiting his home) sometimes.
It stopped after first year ended though.

Oh and the best part university was famous for teaching law.

Many of the bachelors of the law know literally nothing about the law (literally not exaggeration) .

One of the correspondent after being pestered enough confessed that he used question banks.
I was still surprised how can someone know nothing at all even if he used question banks.

What he meant was he used question banks inside of the exam as the exam was going on.

Full on sheets and sheets of questions and answers from which every student is copying throughout the exam.

Oh and when some professor turned toward blackboard students insulted there mother and sister (cause why not at this point) .

There were scenes where teacher is looking at students and calling him on twirling his mustache menacingly. I am not making this up.

You get called on for twirling your mustache. Teacher also said he is not afraid of him.

{universities have came a long way since then)

in the next episode of
WOW it's a interesting delinquent anime. Story of how son goku (the class monitor ) punched kid so hard he bled cause he was insulting him or something (I don't remember).{oh and this state now . As in one or two years ago . Well this is the state in the exceptionally shit schools} .
And how busses are stopped and students gang banged.

If you feel your deliquent manga is getting too ridiculous just write it happens in india. or in 1990s India. And anything you write has chance that it has actually happened.
