Okay, so here's the deal. I've been reading novels and writing fanfics to jog my poor mind but none of them seems to work.
I need help.
Not urgent but still, I need hmm, what do you call it? Prescriptions? I don't know anymore! :sweating_profusely:

1. start studying some academic books.
2. repeat process for a few weeks
3. when brain dead inspiration to write good will come

If you got ideas you can't express properly, just write them down. Remove distractions for a while (like socmed and games) and just write. Sooner or later, your brain's cogwheels would turn again, and you'd be able to inspire yourself.

Edit: Listening to classical music could help here too.

As for completely blank mind, first, take a break. Then, once you're rested, read random works or watch shows. Somehow you'd be able to find something that would inspire you.

If these things still didn't work, again take a break and change of pace. It could be that you're burned out. Usually, 'uninspired' ideas would look bad if your mind is filled with other things, or exhausted. Then when you write again after resting, you'd find it a good idea, or churn out a modified, and better one.

Maybe you need to take a break and find a hobby to refocus your mind. Something active and social would be nice.

How about you play a word game with someone/some people where you all take it in turns writing a sentence where there is a theme?
Example:
Theme is flowers

Person 1: One day, a girl went to a field.
Person 2: The field used to be filled with many flowers.
Person 3: This was until a large organisation bought the land to make a casino.
Person 1: The girl looked at what the field had become.
Person 2: It was filled with neon flowers and other neon signs.
Person 3: Just then, the girl was hit on the head and fell unconscious!
Etc...

You get the idea.
It can sometimes help in getting the inspirational juices flowing.
Hope you manage to come out of your slump.

Spam like your life depends on it. I had works in my docs for more than a year and recently I have decided to just spam word out, I am burning myself out but at least I feel somewhat satisfied that the bloody stories are going somewhere.

Write and write, create short arcs first, then slowly piece them together, SH is not a place for you to post you academic paper and affect your GPA, it is a place for you to spam ideas, either spam chapters per day or prepare to drop a 20plus chapter arc just to test water.

During non-pandemic times, I would recommend falling in love with some people. If you're lucky, one or more of them will break your heart. If you're really lucky like me, one of them will die, and then you'll go off to Hawaii with your friend with benefits for a couple of months, and then a couple of years later, you'll get married, and you'll even have two lovers on the side, but you'll still have that longing in your heart for the ones you lost, and the ones you lost will inspire you for a lifetime.

Make sure you haven't confused lack of inspiration with lack of motivation. They are similar and intrinsically connected.

For motivation I'll just echo that removing strong stimulation is key. Your brain craves stimulation and given the choice between something more or less stimulating it will try and get the more stimulating option.

You can negotiate with your brain's craving for stimulation by cutting off access to overly stimulating things. Keep in mind how stimulating something is varies from person to person, reading, talking to friends, and thinking in circles can be overly stimulating for a person for example and just as addictively stimulating as gaming or watching a movie.

To negotiate down you cut off access to these things for a while until your brain has to choose between nothing or the lesser stimulating thing (writing for example). This kind of thing is how artists and craftsmen in medieval times were able to have non-stop laser focus- there simply were very very few overly stimulating things around so less stimulating things were as appealing as overly stimulating things are in the modern world.

For inspiration try writing what you think would be the coolest thing possible to you. You have opinions about writing you've picked up while reading, use those opinions to form something

I assume this means you want to write, yet can't get any inspiration on how to move your story forward?

You can try whatever you want, but... In all honesty, everything you try will have 99% chance of failure.

There is only one fail-proof method to bypass problems that stop you from writing. And that is, to write.

It doesn't matter how terrible it is, keep writing, write write and write some more. Write the very thing you wanna write, no matter how unfulfilled you are by it or how you feel like this scene isn't good enough or... It doesn't matter, keep writing. Keep writing until you finish a chapter, regardless of rather you hate that chapter or not.

Well, you're probably unhappy with this chapter by now, you wrote it totally uninspired after all, there were so many things you could have done better... Great, now take a few hours (or a day, at most) break and come back to it and start editing it. Put all those fixes in paper and make your chapter shine.

You finished editing? Good, onwards to the next chapter. It doesn't matter if you can still polish it more, if there are still parts that you could edit, go to the next chapter. You're writing a webnovel, it doesn't need to be perfect, so a single round of editing is enough. Once you finish your novel you can polish the whole thing into a carefully planned story and then try publishing it on Amazon or whatever.

... And that's basically how you do it. You solve your problem of feeling uninspired by forcing some inspiration to come. Brute-forcing your way through is honestly the only method that works reliably when writing... Otherwise you'll keep procrastinating and never get anything done in the next 10 years.

You may just need to take a break. It works for me sometimes as I often find myself starting to feel burnt out. Also, perhaps maybe try consuming another form of media for inspiration. I personally find inspiration from all sorts mediums, be it anime, TV shows, movies etc.
