As my title says, my novels that I had translated and currently working on are no longer showing up on my author profile. As you know for Translations, it is one of if not the only way for readers to see and read them. All new chapters i added 2-3 days ago show 0 views from the usual 50-100 view/ reads. And some readers already contacted me saying that they no longer able to find my novels anymore.
What's the issue, and how to fix it please?
Translations have long been against the stated community guidelines on this platform. What I mean is that they're meant to be
original English works, and translators, like yourself, were supposed to flag and hide translations here, linking them to Novel Updates instead. If you failed to do that, they're gone as of a couple days ago.
That's the deal.
Look, if you wish to appeal, this thread or, hell, the whole forum ain't the place. You'll have to send an email for any action to be done because Tony is the only one here with the authority and power to do as such. We, you and I, are peers. We hold no greater function beyond speaking with one another. I hope you, and others, will come to comprehend those specifics.
And, I will state this to be absolutely clear: the purge never should've happened. Those rules should've been clear for all of you to begin with. I also know that the community guidelines is linked just before hitting the publish button, but from my perspective, that's like reading the fine print. I will say this again, it should've been boldly stated for you and others. This mass removal, the ban wave, is a huge upset for many and it is, as you being here, evident that nobody is being informed except through others peer-to-peer.
May I advise going to the Lounge on the main site. You'll see some other translators are working towards other means to continue their publishing for their followers through alternative means like establishing their own website or relying on Patreon... even though Patreon is indirectly saying the same; they got this thing about copyright and trademark policies. Meaning unauthorized translations, especially the ones behind a paid wall or public ones, will be violating their ToS. So, I got a feeling that there will come a day when some big shot across the deep end of the pool issues a cease and desist on Patreon and all of those will be removed too.
Either way, good luck.
