Check out The Vampire's Templar if you get the chance. It's gender-swap yuri set in a fantasy world where the central background conflict is a human-supremacist church versus the various demon races. The protagonist starts off as a grizzled Templar dude fighting for the Church, but is transformed into a female vampire/zombie and promptly has a crisis of faith. She has to work her way up from being a weak, shambling undead and try to regain her former human strength, and perhaps surpass it? There are two seperate yuri couples (which, according to the story's tags, are going to turn into a harem at some point) and the romance doesn't kick into gear until around chapter 50, but the world-building is interesting enough to drive the story through the slow burn, and it's very well-written.

Plus, y'know, gay vampires. That always gets me. ?

On the published light novel side, if you don't mind anvilicious morality play revenge fantasies, check out Sexiled. It's set in a fantasy universe where the local kingdom is extremely misogynistic, and the protagonist Tanya gets booted out of a party where she's the only female member in order to make room for the party leader's girlfriend. The party leader tells her "Women of your age don't belong in adventuring parties, go get married and work as a healer" which, understandably, pisses her off. She swears revenge on the party leader, then accidentally unseals an ancient and powerful sorceress named Laplace who is so inspired by Tanya's overwhelming righteous energy that she decides to aid her in the revenge plot. The two take on the misogynistic society head-on mainly by beating people up with extreme prejudice, and they slowly fall in love along the way. This is very much a 'lesbians vs the patriarchy' story which plays out as the most shallow of revenge fantasies imaginable, but it's a heckin' fun ride.

I recently started a novel, Visions of Dark & Light, that has a major Girl's Love subplot - I don't list it as a GL genre because it's mostly an isekai fantasy and only one of the two POV characters figures into the plot. If I summarized the plot from the FMC's point of view, I'd describe it something like this:

In the city of St. Arbalest, Anise Derrigin is a promising young mage from a privileged background - but she's stuck assisting her cruel uncle, the sorcerer Fenrik of Westval, during her one month off from St. Quillia's Etudium Mystikal for Magistresses. When Uncle Fenrik accidentally summons Ezra, a man from Earth, into a braindead young man's body he's procured, Anise befriends the strange boy and decides to help him escape her uncle's clutches. Meanwhile, Anise slowly comes to realize that she's not quite normal, either: despite her parents' insistence that Anise start looking for a husband, Anise doesn't like men at all - not in that way. No, she's only got eyes for brilliant, beautiful Franyi, her roommate at St. Quillia's. Will Anise be able to win Franyi's heart and deal with the social fallout that's sure to follow? And will she be able to do it while dealing with her crazed, magically-powerful uncle and some of the sleaziest criminals in St. Arbalest's underworld? You'll have to read to find out!
