We have a new movie coming. Been waiting for this, since it took them 8 years and all. Any other Madoka fans here?

Meh. No. Original anime was good, any sequels cheapen out the experience for me.

In general I don't believe in sequels after too long period of time. Art is a product of its time, even the same book can become lesser due to being released in wrong period. People change as well, so even if the same people work on it, they are no longer the same people.

Ironically, same thoughts with Madoka. I'm still of the belief that Rebellion shouldn't have happened after that perfect ending to the TV series, but I also told myself I could give it a pass if they made a sequel to tie everything together.

Then they did, after 8 years haha. Which is primarily why I'm excited now.

Never watched it.

AMV's spoiled all the shocker bits and Madoka-Died-For-Our-Sins memes did the rest.

With that said, here's a raised toast in hopes it ends up an amazing movie~.

This was an anime series I was told to go into blind, so I did, and I balled my eyes out by the end of it.
I am looking forward to the new Madoka Magica, it’d be nice to experience maybe the same raw emotion I felt the first time watching it.

I agree with you 1000%
art in its purest form stands singularly in a moment.

However this art is also a business. And any successful anything in media will become a cash cow.

I mean....Rebellion was certainly quite divisive considering how Homura pretty much crossed the point of no return, but I'm willing to keep an open mind for the new movie. I'd like to see how the fallout of that affects everything.

Yep that's what I'm so excited about. I want to know the fallout post-Rebellion, and given the title, it seems that we could get Walpurgis' backstory in the movie.

Urobutchi finished the script as early as 2014 for this(tweet). I wonder why they decided to sit on it for so long.
