[New(ish) Story] The Goth & The Jock: A Tale As Old As Time [Ten Chapters done~20k Words]

This story is very experimental for me. I'm not sure what the meta is but I'm very sure this story isn't it lol. It's a slow burn romance focused on characters and their traumas and them bouncing off each other. It also has a lot to do with class differentials and finding intimacy after a bad experience.
The other thing about this story is that its set in a fictional country. I just thought it'd be interesting as a sort of challenge to see how well I could construct this setting without just info bombing constantly.

The Goth & The Jock: A Tale As Old As Time
The Goth: Malorie Hayes isn't where she's supposed to be. Working brutal hours at a fast-food joint miles from her dream, surviving off of nothing, and carrying the weight of a past she refuses to look in the eye; Malorie keeps herself upright through sheer inertia.

The Jock: Nicholas Eastwood isn't where he's supposed to be, either. On a court chasing someone else's dream, beside a friend he can't trust, inside a future his father planned for him.

When their lives intersect behind the counter of Burger Galaxy, neither of them is looking for romance. What they find instead is something messier and more dangerous.

This is a slow-burn drama about trust, class, emotional labor, and the terrifying concept of letting someone see you clearly.
