Just launched your first ScribbleHub or Wattpad novel…
and now stuck at the cold start wall?

I've been experimenting with strategies (author’s note questions, chapter hooks, timing), but I’d love to **build a small group of fellow newbies** to trade reads/comments, share cover/title/tag tips, and support each other through the first 100 views.

No spam, no heavy promotion—just a **mutual support circle** (10–20 authors max) to help break the silence barrier together.
Interested? I have a **Discord invite link** where we can coordinate daily swaps and feedback exchanges. Happy to DM/link it if you're up for it!

(FYI: my novel is a system + political intrigue piece: 40 years to turn Britain into a Sultanate. I’ll be happy to trade feedback with anyone in the group!)

Why this reads like GPT copy-paste :blob_frown:

Also, while I understand why you want to do this... Just look at Royal Road. They do exactly the same, and as it shows there, this system is toxic and gatekeeping.
At start it's a "nice initiative", sure. But with more people you are able to decide who will and who will not get to "trending" and this will totally destroy authors who don't want to belong to this group. Shout-outs would became mandatory to even have a chance, just like on the other site.

Additionally, while this is made (for now) in good faith, this is nothing else than trying to "play the system" and this is just not nice, or fair for the others.

I get why you feel that way, and honestly I’ve seen how badly it can go when cliques try to dominate trending lists. That’s not what I want this to become.

My idea was more about small authors helping each other survive the “cold start” stage—sharing feedback, giving each other a first handful of readers so our stories don’t just vanish into zero views. It’s not about gatekeeping or forcing shout-outs.

I don’t think a few beginners swapping feedback will suddenly control the platform, but if it ever did lean toward exclusion, I’d rather shut it down than make it toxic.

The core is simple: a few niche writers reading each other’s stuff and giving honest comments. That’s all.

Thanks for your kind reply.

lol noted—cat blobs are the only trustworthy ones now ?

Most readers on ScribbleHub are silent. For feedback, I recommend writing.com or WritersCafe. Both of those sites have point systems that encourage users to leave reviews carefully.

Thanks for the tip—yeah, I’ve noticed most SH readers are quiet lurkers unless you already have a big backlog.

I’ll definitely check out Writing.com and WritersCafe. I’d really like to get some in-depth critique beyond just view counts.

Please stop. Ai-chan doesn't know if you're bought, a bot, or you are trying to get free points there, but Ai-chan has made a long and detailed rant about that place years ago.
