I pulled this from my playlist of 86 bad apples… I think this counts? Maybe? (I have no idea what a shamisen is supposed to sound like nor if this counts as “modern”)

The whole channel of this guy is about shamisen, and features covers of famous both classical and modern music pieces: "Black Dog" by Deep Purple, "Master of Puppets" by Nirvana, and so on, and so forth.
