I am writing a story where MC is has a farming-hunting idle type system which allows her to cultivate spiritual crops and improve her qi cultivation only thing is how do I manage to get her to turn from a farmer into the Landowner (sort of?) of a massive resort town for cultivators

While MC has a cheat system and fast cultivation she is not OP

Also there is as usual the threat of demonic cultivators, arrogant rich young masters etc

Give her something to trade, I'd assume.

Maybe a spirit crop has diminishing returns- She uses it three or four times and stops gaining anything from it. She still has plenty of crops, so she trades it to other cultivators in exchange for more seeds or even something cheaty from her system.

If the system encourages her to build a town for other cultivators, then it'll get done. Instead of growing one small field of whatever she needs at the moment, she'll just keep building more and more fields of stuff she can sell.

Maybe make her discover a unique crop, one that then can be turned into something valuable. She could build from that, get allies in, people who band together to protect themselves and expand, from there they could establish a whole guild around it. Aquire land or even create a lucrative buisness and whatnot, gain more money, more power and then more influence, rising through the ranks.

I think there's something writers often forget when having an OP MC do OP things, and that is authentic and entertaining reactions from the POV of other characters.

Doing this will also naturally lead into side-story arcs, or end up driving the plot as a whole.

For example, have the MC farm their version of a typical cultivation crop, and sell it.

Later, an interlude where other people start to notice unusual things. Maybe the lord who purchased the crop had the storehouse burn down, but somehow only the MC's crop survived. There's an inciting incident to further plot right there.

There are also thousands of adjectives and forms of dialogue where other characters can express how game-changing MC's new crops are. You can show it also, perhaps one of the lords who purchased the crop had his sons unexpectedly come first place in a martial arts tournament. Now you have rival groups trying to track down MC and investigate them.

The trope of "strong character does strong things but is a little naive, and then through the eyes of other characters we see how insane they are" is something I'm never sick of. Just don't make your MC character dumb (unless you're going for that trope).

Of course, it being a cultivation novel. When the MC refuses to sell to a cultivator they need to yell out "You're courting death!"

Make her as charismatic and as gas lighting as possible, but most of all... don't forget to give her empathy. One of the more unexplored parts of Xianxia stories is the lives of the mortals and how they are basically screwed over by the immortals whether having their child kidnapped into sects or worse. She could have some of these refugee mortals in her eventual town and turn them into cultivators, helping to build up the kingdom aspect of your story.

The main ideas is that she is trying to live a peaceful life and somehow finds herself running a rest house for spirit, gods, cultivators basically like the bathhouse in spirited away

The main problem is that she plans on being independent and not paying any tax for anyone (which causes 50% of her problems) and upholding her rules like no stealing, no fighting ,No trying to kill, rape or refine (into pills or undead) her employees ,no discrimination ,no eating other guests (in case of some species who eat human)

This seems to be very much a slice-of-life kind of story, where most of the plot comes from the mundane struggle, that out could somehow connect them into a hidden plot for something more. Diseases ravaging the crops, which can be as simple as you want, or as complex as a hidden Realm that is leaking miasma. I think the plots can also come from a vast cast of supporting characters, each of whom should have a fleshed-out backstory to present things for the MC to do.

Remember, growing crops/farming is a boring business involving mostly doing nothing after planting and before harvest. So, invest in something else the MC can do in the mean time
