I just watched Troll on Netflix. The Troll is BIG. Like Kaiju big. And Norwegian, not a country you'd cite as a kaiju-prone. And that got me thinking.

What if a national Kaiju (giant monster) suddenly appeared for every country? Or what if they'd always existed? What would they look like? Would they be friendly to humans? To one another? Would they be sleeping guardians, rampaging catastrophes, extra-plus-sized citizens, unchallengeable tyrants, or something else?

PROMPT:
In no less than 500 words, describe a world where countries each have a national gigantic monster, or kaiju.

Well, there was a Korean one a few years ago - blanking on the name, and I even saw the film. Of course, we know Japan has Gojira, China probably has a lion-dragon thing (maybe even King Seezar from one of the old Godzilla movies, I think it was the second Mechagodzilla one), and the United States has King Kong (adopted). England has Gorgo, of course, and Norway Reptillicus already. Russia probably has an enormous bear with some kind of thermodynamic (fire and ice) powers.

The Filipino version is just Higante (lit. Giant). Depending on the place, it can be friendly or hostile, but overall, it looks and acts like humans.

In the southern part of the country, in the island of Mindanao, some people have this folklore character called "Bakunawa" which is simply the Flip version of dragon. Bakunawas are believed to eat the moon whenever there's a lunar eclipse, prompting the locals with guns to shoot at the moon whenever it happens (a local custom).
