I am in desperate need of music to drown out the sound of my dad's crappy car programmes (played at the volume of a marching band) and to help me focus on the short story I'm writing.

It's a feel-good story about falling in love with a mermaid, so I need mermaid or ocean-themed music that isn't too dark. It can be very loosely related if need be, so long as it fits the mood.

Please send help~!

There's 'The Lullaby Of The Siren' by audiomachine. It might be etherical, but from what I remember it's not dark. It's also instrumental music so it'll be good for writing. ? Hope that helps.

Thank you - it's a really nice piece~!

I actually have a strange preference for non-instrumental music while I write, so it doesn't matter whether there are words or not to me.

Not exactly mermaid, but maybe this will help with the mood:

Also, this artist has a lot of fun stuff:

The first one is pretty good, thank you~! (Although without the sexual overtones from the video... :blob_melt: I forgot to say, but they're far, far too young for that.)

It has water and is cute. Though it might be too rock.
This one is dreamy
:blob_popcorn: Maybe I should write about a mermay too.

I would check our YouTube's free use audio library because they are grouped by theme. There are also trailer type musics which can help you immerse.

I really prefer just normal music when I'm writing. It's rare that I don't find instrumental music distracting.

Don't know if this fits you, but once when I was writing a love story about jellyfish mermaids, I used to listen to this on repeat.

(Go a bit forward from the beginning till the piano melody starts since the flute beginning is not the actual melody).

Ooh, the bit from halfway forward might be really good for the scene I'm writing right now~! Thank you.
