A bit odd I know and I mainly looking for it to be in martial arts/ xianxia/ fist fighting theme.

For those who lacked context, think Uryu Ishida when he fought Mayuri Kurotsuchi and used his Letzt Stil to make reishi (mana) threads to puppet his own paralysed body (due to Mayuri's toxin).

Then the other context I could think of his a dude in some obsolete manga with the power of hypnosis and hypnotize himself to become a judo master in order to fight on par with a berserker girl. Though he has the moves and skills, his body cannot handle the stress and was on the verge of breakdown.

I am actually having a hard time to find something similar to about, as even they are one-off and never shown again. Body puppetry and using their own body like a fighting machine sounds like a fun concept but I had yet see anyone use it to the fullest.

So yeah, hope to hear some examples.

Ps.

Damn me.

I can only think of hunter x hunter, but it's not the MC who did it.
Maybe the manga "Auto Hunting", but it's not puppetry. Instead, the MC have an auto mode ability that control his body in the most efficient way.

Hated that work.

I had forgotten why though.

The only ones I can think of are villains from Naruto, Kankuro and Sasori. Not sure if they used it on themselves, though.

"Reincarnated in a Shounen Manga" on Royal Road. The main character makes an ability that controls himself. It's like popcorn, but still delicious.

i know 2 but i dont remenber the name because been a while i read them

one is a boy that is being persecuted by his family for inherit bullshit and when he is fleeing he meet a guy that has a sickness that make him so he cant stop laughting unless he see someone else laughting the start of the manga has nothing to do with puppets, but after the end of the tower arc the main theme of the manga becomes puppets im not going to go into details for spoiler reasons i think the name is karakuri circus

the other one is a mc reincarnate in a household that believe that inbreading make their sire strong so to escape from incest he run away from home, the mc is a pupetter that one i really dont remenber the name but since is a japanese novel probably if u try to describe the plot u have a good chance to find it

The main character from Arachnid who uses threads, once covered her own body with it just so she can move using her fingers. Though, that's pretty much near the very end.

At least Sasori did.

Ok will check. Thanks.
Does self-hypnosis counts?
Yes.

Oh ya, that.

Also I recall the threads are hard as steel and once she coiled it around herself, it is and quoted by her "like wearing a suit of armor".

Manga Tokage no Ou, The Lizard King. It is rather short, and if I remember everything correctly it fits the description. R-18 KR webtoon I Was the One Who Got Hypnotized but I Made an Idol Harem. The self-hypnosis is prominent in the first couple of chapters, but later on it is barely used. That's all I remember for now.

I could see some of the vampires of the Sanguinus family in "My Vampire System" literally doing this (the Family Power is called Puppet Master or Puppeteer and lets them embed threads in people to fight as their "puppets" as they fight better using others than they do using their own bodies).

It is an audio novel on Pocket FM but apparently was a long running Manga series before it was translated to an audiobook.

I currently think of the “I Contracted Myself” Manhwa where the MC uses the absolute obedience skill (which can only be used on others after explanation and consent) was used on himself. He then acts more true to his nature but does not forget to use the benefit of having ‘Self Mastery’ via control. The story then becomes a big showdown because awakening his true powers actually mattered for once.
