I have read too many novels with op MC joining a sect when he was at his weakest. Before joining, that sect will be one of most powerful force present on the whole continent/world. MC passes the entrance test. As soon as he join, the sect become one of the weakest force (with op power enough to rival sect elders or low cultivation but with countless trump cards in him ofcource it will become weakest) the arrogance of sect comrades become a joke when the sect become weak in MC's eyes (in reader's eyes too). As if a delicious ten thousand year old delicious spiritual fruit, senior brothers and their dad, grand dad and the great grand dad pounce on him to bite him to death. MC brushed off all.

* Some MCs enjoys ticking of time bomb. Maybe they want some pressure or something. They won't kill their enemies and gradually comes to the point where even their ancestor is trying to kill him. (Not talking about decisive protagonists here),(eg:legend of xianxia/banished disciple's counterattack)

The year end sect tournament comes. MC didn't perform his ultimate trump cards. And still won dazzlingly.
The elders offers to take him as their disciples and some mc's choose and some simply says they don't need a master using wits (for whatever reasons). Then breakthroughs, sect missions, special resources assigned to him alone etc... MC calculate everything's worth and at last just leaves the sect (for higher organisation or for personal reasons). the thing is MC does have power to decide his path then.

But in some cases, where sects is destroyed ( enemies invasion or because MC offended some big shot),(the sect let him escape at the cost of their lives in hopes that he will revitalise it in the future) the need to take revenge is mentioned in some chapter afterwards but soon forgotten. That is one of the most absurd thing I have encountered in cultivation novels.
All cultivation novels I have read has some elements like this.

And i encountered one that is a complete opposite of the types mentioned above last week (Heaven's devourer)-(mc:WuYu). A protagonist who knows gratitude sure was refreshing....!

i'm actually a cultivation bigshot

it's set up as a comedy where the protagonist doesn't realize what he is doing, but everyone who visits him has to act like he is a completly normal human, as he unknowingly increases their strength.

Hii. Thanks for the recommendation. I have read this novel before. Not full though. I dropped halfway for some reason I don't remember. I will reread again.
