At least when writing I prefer male but for reading I like a bit of both

which one I will prefer is greatly depending on the story I'm about to write.

But so far, it's always male. Can't find anything suitable for a female protagonist story just yet.

I wish I could give you a straight answer to that, but I'm drawn to archetypes; those who are witty, autonomous, and driven by self-interest. That can be male or female... or non-human.

All my novels feature heterosexual romance, so my protagonists are male and female.
I mean, in romance genre, both male and female are main characters, right?

In principle, I have nothing against either; it's all about how the character is written. From the stories I've read though, I've found I statically dislike male characters more often than female characters, usually due to their behavior.

I think I've answered this somewhere else, but I don't have a preference. Howeva, I do enjoy male-demographic stories with female leads and vice versa. Just feels fresh
