I personally like Black hair and Red eyes on my male leads.
But use those colors on most of my male leads and I know there's some hate for it. I want to use it because I like it. But what if my readers don't?

Should I change it? Or should I let it be?

supposed to be a cigarette with unflicked ashes. i don't think Shiro would be an unironic 420 blaze it kind of guy but I think he'll give it a shot out of curiosity, after heavy persuasion.

I made my male lead short, plain and like the average skinny asian and it doesn't seem to deter readers, but I guess it depends on the story. I think your male lead character is fine. Just make him interesting.
