Add a board in which readers can promote series they like for other readers to check out, and make it so that when 'selecting' said series it has to be non-trending/a less known book . A 'rate-up' (upvote basically) could be used to bring said promotion higher up in the board rankings if the other people on the site also want to see this story promoted.
Basically it acts as a hidden-gem system for lesser-known works with stronger-fanbases/potential appeal.
To add on;
*Authors can't promote their own work.
*Their is only one promotion for any given book at the time, but that one promotion includes all the current recommendations of the readers under it. (Essentially, a positive review space of its own.) Any promotion then adds a review, and gives automatically a 'rate-up' to the board. (You can't rate-up twice here.)
*The promotion in the board lasts a given time, once its through their is a cooldown before a work can be promoted gain. When it is, all prior reviews are refreshed/starts back at 0. Also, If the promotion surpasses the limit through its run of what can be promoted, then it will continue to be promoted but with a shorter frame of time.
*You can only promote if you have an account (can not be recent) and each user has a limited number of promotions that refresh after a given amount of time.
