I would love to recommend my story, Nowhere to Run. It's a fantasy/sci-fi mystery with some action. It starts slow, but it gets better, I promise!

Not sure how much sense it makes, as my stories are fantasy, but maybe it could be a fit. If you're fine with non-human protagonist transformation stories it could work.
For example, in my "Slime Girl" story there are a lot of comedic elements, though the story itself is mostly about the psychological issues the female MC has to face due to the transformation.
Regarding action: While there are a lot of fight, I wouldn't say they are a main focus. At its heart, it's more of an adventure story.
If you're interested in slime shenanigans it could interest you.
