The Royal Princess is a Sadist

The premise in a nutshell:
A certain princess indulges in the pleasure of sadism to fulfill her twisted desires, and in its own somewhat twisted and ironic way, for the good of others.

It's really quite self explanatory. I'd just like some first impressions on this story, and also want a few tips on what I should do for the perspective.

A few options I've come up with are these (but I'm open for more):
1. Keep the perspective the exact same
2. 1st person POV for MC (present tense)
3. 1st person POV for MC (past tense)

Schadenfreude and sadism are two very different concepts. :blob_sir:

Well, yeah. The way I see it is that schadenfreude is more of an emotion while sadism is more of a trait. In that way, it's easily possible for a sadist to have strong feelings of schadenfreude even if they aren't the direct cause, but it's also obvious that they'd take equal pleasure in doing the dirty work themselves.
EDIT: Basically, they're not mutually exclusive.

Well, what really matters is I wanted a pun, and since this works out more or less, I rolled with it.

Niet. Schaden means in German harm, and Schadenfreude is the act of enjoying harm, but not active harm. Schadenfreude is passive as you enjoy a misfortune that is inflicted one the other party by a third independent cause. Sadism, however, is inherently active. You are the one who is directly responsible for the suffering and pain.

If the person runs against the wall and you laugh, then that is Schadenfreude.

If you are torturing someone by cutting off his limbs, then that is plain old sadism.
