I am looking for the exposure that being an editor will give me. On a serious note, you should post on a feedback thread. Have someone who will give you honest feedback. There is a good feedback thread here https://forum.scribblehub.com/threads/yet-another-free-feedback-thread.10026/. There are many things that you can do to improve your writing. If the majority of your readers are complaining then you are doing something wrong. "it's too rough and misspell a lot of words". Are you using any sort of editing software?

Edit: Didn't you say in another thread that it was your friend writing the story? Or am I mistaken?

A trick to use is a text to speech software preferably one with a natural sounding voice. Newer version of word come with such feature. Use that to listen to your writing it's a great way to spot mistakes. Other than that get a beta reader
