I absolutely LOVE magical girl anime, and I'm writing my own magical girl story too. I know there's a tag for magical girl stuff, but I want to know your opinions on which ones are good. No explicit sex please.

Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha, the first non mainstream anime I watched and only magical girl series I ever saw in it's entirety.
I may be influenced a lot by melancholy and fond memories of it but I still like the series.

A fellow magical girl fan~! :blob_aww:

Unfortunately, if you're searching for a traditional magical girl novel, I haven't encountered any here yet - just parodies and "dark" versions modelled after Madoka Magica/Magical Girl Raising Project.

Literally the only more traditional magical girl anime I've watched was Winx club.
Wait you were talking novels, nevermind

If you want magical girl stories, you may be better off looking for manga or comics. After 'Cardcaptor Sakura' firmly entrenched the idea of frilly costumes as essential to the genre, few magical girl novels have come around. "Solte the Traveler" is a rather fun shounen take on magical girls that I found on mangadex recently (bonus points for having an isekai'd character who is not the protagonist), but here on scribblehub I rarely see any, except for a few that are LGBTQ themed. The queer community has long been oddly taken with Sailor Moon after all. 'The Prism Girls and the Magic Mists' here was enjoyable, but perhaps a little philosophic for what many might expect from the genre (although if you pay attention there are some dark and complex themes in the aforementioned Lyrical Nanoha).

I've been thinking about developing a Magical girl novel for both my lewd account and my clean one, want a PM if I ever get off my bony pelvic bone and turn my notes into something readable?
