As much as I dislike RR, and understand this isn't the situation where I should 'defend' them, but I don't want RR to go down. I understand that RR owners would rather shut down the site than pocket less money, it is what it is. What I know as well is that we keep losing writing sites, and not enough new ones appear. And as we know, competition is good, no competition is bad.

I don't know, man. How expensive is their overhead for running a site that not only runs ads, but has premium memberships for both readers and writers, as well as having their own ad campaign for authors' novels? If they are struggling that badly, then what the hell are they doing to plea to users to stop using ad-blockers?
I mean, they launched an app for Apple and Android phones for what reason? If they go down, then it's an issue on their end. I see it is negligence and yes it would suck to loss a site that allows amateur authors to post their stuff but it's on them to make a better service.

Correct me if I'm wrong. RR isn't owned by just one guy like SH, or a group of people, it is owned by a company\corpo, right? If that's the case, I can see it happen. Corpos are usually greedy.

It is still in the hands of the original people who made it, as far as I can tell. I looked it up yesterday when this came up with Tyrano. So it is not exactly a corpo-level leadership, but I could be wrong. I am not in their shadow cabal.

So I agree with @RepresentingAll_Pauls if they go down, it is on them. Especially with all the partnership programs they are running with publishers and Amazon.

That is why I don't believe their plea. If they are that flustered, then they have a serious spending issue on their hands.
