I don’t really have any problems but just wanted to make a blog post on the progress I was making on the story I’m planning. I found that I’m more committed when my plan is completed with no flaws from beginning to end.
I have a similar level of planning made for my other works I’m actually set on finishing, but this one became harder to plan than others since I didn’t have enough ideas at the time. Now that I have accumulated enough ideas all thats left is formulating the plan step by step from scratch.
The first draft of this story was called ‘Get Mad [Isekai Revenge Fantasy Epic]’, but I’ve since deleted it since I found myself being unable to be a good plantser. The lacking of ideas for the next chapter made me indecisive and frustrated.
So I’m recycling some ideas from that but taking out the mature elements. I’m not mature enough to be able to balance erotic and action stuff so I’m just going to focus on one. Just write a regular fantasy epic with clear goals in mind.
I’m keeping the themes about legacy and inheritance since I like those topics.
Instead of the main character soloing the adventure I’m working on a five-man band. This is minus The Smart Guy since it’ll be an academy setting where everyone is smart to a certain extent. Just depends on the topic.
The original protagonist, Alan Smith, has now been delegated to companion main character as part of the five-man band. I thought of a fun idea using the Novel Extra genre but will expand on that later. Most important is he is now a foil.
The new main character of this story will be a female Power Ranger. Specifically the ‘Sixth Ranger’ coloured Black. She comes from a different world from Alan Smith, but is caught up in the same incident that transmigrated them.
Both of them possess a character in an ongoing story, but only Alan Smith is aware of the events of it. The Power Ranger protagonist, Lyla Walker, is completely ignorant and only sees this world in the eyes of someone new to everything around her.
I’m thinking of making the relationship between Alan Smith and Lyla Walker tense in nature. She is a hero, and he is a mysterious person. Through her own deductions judging from what he said, she found Alan possessed a ‘villain’.
That in itself didn’t change her perspective on him, but the more she gets to know him, the more she understands that he is ‘evil’. Someone who wouldn’t hesitate to murder and commit crimes for the sake of his own brand of justice.
They clash on the meaning of justice and the legacy left behind by them through a Battle Academy setting.
That’s the base idea I’m working on. Still fine-tuning the details on their personalities and those of the other five-man band members. At least three of the band possess completely fleshed out individuals, but don’t inherit any memories.
Lyla being the centre of the group and story.
Still trying to balance my working life and writing so I’ll be doing that in my free time.
Will update on each arc until I’m satisfied with the end plan.
