Hey, I'm a bit drunk right now, so maybe I'm going to delete this soon (I don't know if I can; it depends on the page, but if not, whatever). I just wanted to thank Tony and the rest of the mods (especially the one who approved all of my cover changes at the beginning) for creating this site. It has a lot of emphasis on new novels and new chapters; frankly, I would have stopped writing if not for here, where I have some people that read my crappy novel. Maybe this way of doing this will stop when the site begins to be commercial, but that also is life; we have to be grateful for the moment. So that, just thanks. Thanks for a site where I know at least some people like my lazy chapters. Maybe I'm writing crap right now, but here, sometimes I believe I can do better in the future.

Cheers.

Don't let the critical voice rear its ugly head as you write. Save it for the editing after the first draft is done with. Once the story is complete, nothing can uncomplete it.
Unless you kill it yourself, and delete it without mercy.
I wish you happy writing!

What's wrong with Royalroad
It is hard to find 'sincere' people there who would appreciate your hard work and help you actually improve both mentally and emotionally. They don't certainly lack 'passionate' people who both had toxicity on the tip of their fingers and irascible bloodlust for a war of words.

I agree, but sometimes it was more painful seeing one hateful comment than becoming motivated by seeing ten positive comments. As content creators, we could not please everyone. Still, it was demoralizing. The only way out was to push forward, I guess.
This site saved me from posting on RR, I can't handle that level of toxicity.
I feel the same. I only experienced one most intolerable rude comment here in SH. That was the past month which was a first and very rare. WN has shitty readers. RR ain't so bad and could be tolerable as long as you find the readers who really click with your work. But RR readers could really be vengefully and straightforwardly rude when it came to criticisms like they own you or something.

That is what mattered. A novel is alive as long as it has its readers. Stay strong. I like doravg's words, so I will borrow them: I wish you Happy Writing! Some might say that a novel is as good as its writer, but I dare argue, that a novel can only be good as its reader. Heck, I am persistently reading MTL of 'I Became A Flashing Genius At The Magic Academy' before my past sembreak and my brain hurts!
