Usually, I don't open a thread because I rarely have something important to say, but this entire subforum seems a little silly to me. I can't help but notice that most threads only contain posts from the respective author. I think I also opened one a long time ago, and the only comment I got was from someone who talked about the cover girl's t*ts, so I'm not attacking anyone here. I am just pointing out that this entire subforum is not working.

Of the 20 threads, only a single thread has someone else posting on it. It looks to me that people are posting their own stories, but clearly, readers (in general) are not really too keen to discuss the stories they are reading.

I think this entire subforum is not working... should we keep it?

Also, congratulations to Wamba2K, you are the winner, since you got some engagement going.

I keep forgetting there's a forum at all, so I only recently started posting. Almost every writing space is filled with authors trying to promote to other authors. Anyone that works for themselves in the competitive digital marketing space will confirm that it's the same for all digital content. If you ask me, the platforms don't do enough to separate consumers and producers, or in this case; readers and writers. I can't really say for certain until I've explored more, but it seems like the forums simply aren't promoted enough to readers? It leads to a weird dynamic, because writers have far less time to read the works of other authors, especially if their ulterior motive is to get attention to their own work. That wouldn't be so much of an issue if there were more readers that were just readers. There are far more readers than writers, it's just a matter of collecting them in one space. Of course, readers are probably less likely to write and more likely to lurk, so it's almost kind of the natural outcome that most threads are just authors talking to themselves.

In any case, be that change you want to see in the world! I'm trying to interact more with the community in between writing sessions, and I just comment on the most recently active thread I feel like I can add on to. If everyone did that, then there wouldn't be as many empty threads. Like I said though, I'm new here. I don't know if I have an accurate lay of the land.

I guess it prevents authors from posting chapter updates in other sections of the forum?
