I'm totally hyped for 2022.

I thought things would've been better in 2021 after what happened in 2020, but then the bombs dropped and then the virus mutated and then bugs mutated and then and on and on.

I hope the companies that finally allowed their office workers to work from home will give up maintaining their office buildings and convert them to low-income housing and homeless shelters.

Not every job can be done from home these days, but so many can. Many companies are simply behind the times. My mother has been working 100% from home since 2009 and partially from home several years before that. I graduated university in 2011, and I've been working from home since 2012. I ignored a lot of opportunities and wound up doing something different from what I studied because I don't believe that driving to work is necessary for the types of jobs I want. I'm making less money than I could make, but I also don't have to worry about the expense of a car.

I'm sorry but the "mother's been working 100% from home" part sounds like you're gonna supply a link with the caption FIND OUT HOW NOW!!! but yeah, considering how the economy hasn't killed themselves yet (they're heavily kneecapped but still, not as bad) I think we can start gearing for a no-office work culture.

Well, it's basically a boring corporate job with long hours. She used to commute to the San Francisco office every day on a train or bus, depending on the schedule, and gradually the company started letting her work from home a couple of days a week, and then she was only going into the office one day a week, and finally the company decided to close their San Francisco office, so they gave her a choice between moving to Boston or just working 100% from home, and so now she just works from home and phones into conferences occasionally.
