I don't have a specific story in mind, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of two authors doing an Isekai swap between their stories. Not, Isekai INTO a story, but they each have a story of their own, then the authors said, "Well, your character winds up here, mine there, and let's see what happens for a while."

Not really, but I wouldn’t mind some one doing that with one of my stories, assuming they ask first.

I think this happened between the MC of the dragon idol one and Alysara

No, that's just a cross-over. Both characters get pulled into a 3rd world different from either of the ones they came from, and then when the little mini-arc is over they both go back to their own worlds and none of it is even talked about at all in their own series.

EDIT: It basically amounts to a fan-fiction crossover, but just written by the actual authors of the respective series. At the very least, it is every single bit as non-cannon as it would be if it was written by some unassociated fan.

Nah, don't know of any. Also wouldn't work for any of my stories. All three of them aren't really worlds but character pieces. Might do actual world-building on my fourth try though.

I have seen it a couple times before but one story always seems to burn out before the other and it causes continuity problems for the other.

My story and my brother's did a crossover, and I ended up writing his character having a major role in the 2nd Arc, as evidenced by this illustration.

His character is that guy on top-right corner, Sir Loin of Steak (an alias, of course).

This is my initial character design for him.

And a character intro illustration to goad him into finishing his manuscript, but that failed too. lol

Thing is, he hasn't released his story yet...for three years now.

I wouldn't mind doing that but I am working on another story for a while(3 months). Though with how I made my time traveler character, he can just go to any timeline in any universe just by thinking it or I could have the time god send him.

I think there is a chapter or two in some of the biggest ones. I believe salvos makes an appearance in the wandering inn. Or maybe dragon eye moon I can't remember I think just one chapter.

I wouldn't mind doing a non canon cross over, but I'm a little behind on chapters right now.

You know what they say: make a suggestion, own a suggestion. Which other author's world would you want your characters to visit?

Currently? Not sure. I suppose first of all, I'd have to know the other author was committed to the bit. I'd hate to start something that had to be axed halfway through.

Made me laugh, but let me guess, your brother was in the military or some protection. Maybe a history nut? Enjoys reading about history war tatics

It'll turn into bad OP wish-fulfillment self-insert fanfic or straight up murder attempt, as the MC of each story is either extremely powerful or straight up dead-on-arrival.

The balance is a lie, unless there's negotiation that turns into real agreement contract between author.

Sounds like a terrible idea, my friend.
I'm looking for someone who has done it. If you don't know anyone, that's fine.

Uhhh... If you swapped into FTS I don't know how you'd wind up dead. And if You switched Toshi out into any other world with a magical setting, he'd become insanely powerful as he is lit Literally a walking batter of near-unlimited power. I thought about what would happen if I switched Ryan and Toshi.

Toshi would actually have the problem of trying to keep his magic under control because he would be a walking Nuclear Reactor in a world of bic lighters. He'd have absolutely zero finesse. It'd be like watering a cactus with a Firehose. He'd be his own worst enemy.

Whereas Ryan would wind up in basically normal world, losing all of his elemental magic, but because he also has his aura core, as aura magic is allowed in Reverse world, he'd still have his physical enhancements, making him a superior being to everyone else on the planet.

In fact, I would say both would IMPROVE if they were to switch places. They are both suppressed by their situation. Toshi because he has unlimited potential, but is in a world where magic is nerfed, and Ryan because the social setting makes him a pariah. He is a half-breed and socially is an outcast, so he has had to claw his way to a position of respect every fuckin step of the way. If he was in Reverse world, he'd be a social GOD.

In reverse world, males should be small and weak in appearance. Ryan is a half dwarf, which means he is the height of a dwarf, with the proportional body of a human. (magic world genetics) He would be a Shota, which in Reverse world makes him one of the sexiest fetishes the women lust over. Adding on the fact he has an aura core, he'd be able to literally sleep his way to the top of Only Fans in a week.

However, He wouldn't be extremely powerful, but socially powerful. I don't see how one becomes Extremely powerful, and the other is dead on arrival.

Your sweeping generalizations really seem to be a problem of bad authors, not bad situations.
Which character would you want to send?
Hotrod wouldn't care. Toshi would be interesting, but I doubt it'd be a growing experience. Angel/Jack would just roll with it.
Ryan I suppose.
