So, is it? Note that we are speaking of a land with elves and pixies. Yet, one with futuristic comforts.
Yes, but wouldn't it be weird for a gnome to get on the plane, and travel to the magical town of Steam, where everything is powered by cog mechanisms and electricity?Nothing says sci-fi and fantasy is mutually exclusive. Look at Shadowrun for example.
Like in Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura? It's considered fantasy.Yes, but wouldn't it be weird for a gnome to get on the plane, and travel to the magical town of Steam, where everything is powered by cog mechanisms and electricity?

So, it should be tagged as both fantasy and sci-fi?Like in Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura? It's considered fantasy.
I used Shadowrun as an example because it is a cyberpunk roleplaying game, with fantasy races such as gnomes, trolls, elves etc. It’s not weird if it makes since for the story.Yes, but wouldn't it be weird for a gnome to get on the plane, and travel to the magical town of Steam, where everything is powered by cog mechanisms and electricity?
No weirder than a dark elf BDSM sex cult fighting against bloodthirsty nuns in powered armour in space.Yes, but wouldn't it be weird for a gnome to get on the plane, and travel to the magical town of Steam, where everything is powered by cog mechanisms and electricity?
Your example with a gnome can be tagged either as a fantasy, fantasy+steampunk, or fantasy+dieselpunk. Depends on the state of the world's technology. Another example of a sci-fi + fantasy setting is WH40K. People there use spaceships, plasma, or laser guns, and at the same time, you have orks, space elves, and magic. So, it should be tagged as both fantasy and sci-fi?
Huh, Warhammer? The one with the meme God Emperor?Your example with a gnome can be tagged either as a fantasy, fantasy+steampunk, or fantasy+dieselpunk. And OrksHuh, Warhammer? The one with the meme God Emperor?
Yes. Even though some might consider it fantasy in space, technically, it's a sci-fi+fantasy. For example, there are gnomes(squats) in armor that is powered by a miniature nuclear reactor or some other sci-fi engine. They can carry plasma pistols as a weapon and fight an ork whose weapon is simply a huge axe without any kind of gimmicks or secret mechanism, a plain axe. While ork weirdboys(shamans) summon bolts of lightning out of nowhere. All of this can happen on a huge spaceship as those gnomes(squats) defend it from space ork pirates.Huh, Warhammer? The one with the meme God Emperor?
Gnomes have always been the technologically advanced to me, next to Dwarfs,Yes, but wouldn't it be weird for a gnome to get on the plane, and travel to the magical town of Steam, where everything is powered by cog mechanisms and electricity?
you forgot the best part about the orks. *EVERY SINGLE PIECE* of ork technology literally runs on wishful thinking. red ones really do go faster than any other color and vehicles that should have literally fallen to pieces rumble along like they're properly maintained.Yes. I didn't forget to mention it. That part of my reply is simply purple-colored.you forgot the best part about the orks. *EVERY SINGLE PIECE* of ork technology literally runs on wishful thinking. red ones really do go faster than any other color and vehicles that should have literally fallen to pieces rumble along like they're properly maintained.
Honestly, the orks are basically fantasy personified somehow existing in a sci-fi world.
It's a science fantasy probably. So, is it? Note that we are speaking of a land with elves and pixies. Yet, one with futuristic comforts.
