Scenario:

3 friends (1 couple and 1 woman)

GF volunteers to be the tester of her BFF's machine which harnesses the brain power of human, thus sending the GF into another world via REM.

Machine malfunctions and GF is stuck on the other realm.

BF and BFF goes into the machine to save the GF but finds out that she was possessed by ancient being.

Ancient Being states that they were watching from behind the scenes since time immemorial and tells the two (BF and BFF that the GF chose to be the host.)

Ancient Being talks about a scroll that can change reality itself and all the events from the universe were being recorded there as well.

BF suddenly has an idea to steal the scroll and stop BFF from making the machine in the beginning. He also plans to use the scrolls to make all hardships and conflicts to disappear from the world where everyone would get their own share of happy ending.

BFF says that would only cause problems if he does that and while his cause might be noble and just. No human should have that kind of power.

Question. Will BF change things once and, after doing it, return the scroll, or will he keep it? Another question, in BF's view, what will stop conflicts and hardships? What are the instruments that will help everyone achieve their own happy ending?

I feel like it's an obvious trap. The "ancient being" is obviously something like the devil, tempting the people to take the easy route and fall into sin, and drag the world to hell... At least that's how I would write it, with the BF succumbing to faustian corruption and turning the world into hell.

He will keep the scroll for himself and will change reality and fate itself.

He will make everyone's dreams come true like.

A newbie idol who gets unwarranted hate from fans because it was revealed that she has a BF. (He will make it so that the idol's most rabid parasocial fans will accept and support their relationship.)

A Middle Aged Doctor who failed to save a patient due to their illness has a high death rate. (He will wipe the disease off the planet and resurrect the dead patient.)

Basically, he becomes GOD in a sense that he can grant miracles, change reality, warp space and time on a whim or doom this timeline at an instant.

... I felt that the GF had been sidebenched after awhile and my head was initially focusing on what the BF and BFF (I assume BFF of GF is also a she) did together that caused the question "is BF right or wrong?" Such as to fuck your GF's BFF while she is gone.

As for the scroll... that is too much power. Unless the BF plans to thanos snap himself after making the "perfect world", I will always see him in a terrible light. People change... for the worse most of the times.

Also, there is no such thing as a happy ending for all people imho, we either learn how to keep our egos in check and be content or suffer.

I personally like the idea of a world without hardship or conflict, but if the scroll does have the power to change the world, won't that just make BF a god or something who will determine all the rules and such? That much power can't fall in the hands of one person imo.

Kinda feels Madoka Rebellion-ish, and I don't like it. And given the way it's said, it feels like something like what Naruto did, just trapping unconscious people in their happy illusion worlds.

It does feel like a Lotus-Eater Machine plot because not everyone can be happy or have their dreams fulfilled all at the same time.

We're conditioned by certain tropes to think that the BF will inevitably be wrong or make a mistake, that he's evil and delusional for even considering it.

There are a lot of things that could go wrong, so why try?

I don't like that line of thought. It's better to try to make things better and fuck it up than let the situation remain as it is. Instead of defaulting to, "He's evil, destroy him."- try to eliminate the obstacles and improve the chances of things working out better.

He is a God after possessing the scroll.

He's the Judge, Jury and Executioner too.

He's an idiot cause some people dream of harming, owning, and/or killing all other people that don't fit their beliefs.

Also, it smells of a trap. Cause why would an ancient being even have such a thing and NOT be protected.

He can do that and he is deluded that he will be humanities true messiah
Nope. Give me a straight answer, not this ambiguous thingy.

You said.
He also plans to use the scrolls to make all hardships and conflicts to disappear from the world where everyone would get their own share of happy ending.
He will make everyone's dreams come true like.
When I ask you if everyone includes criminals, you start giving me ambiguous answers. Nah, I won't take this as an answer. It's either yes, or no. Don't start this crap about delusions, messiah. Or tell me HOW he will sort people, what he thinks is right or wrong, and whose dreams he will make true.

For some reason I imagine you pinning the OP to the wall and yelling at their face... Weird.

I see. BF will probably trap the criminals in their own dream world where they can live out their fantasies.

Its like the episode in Naruto where Madara (I think) uses Tsukuyomi on everyone who opposes him.

The BF is probably being lied to, if there is such a scroll there's no way the ancient (probably evil) being would let him get it, so the better way to end this is to give up and go talk to a psychologist.
