INVESTIGATION: New titles not always being at the top on the "latest series list"

This is a semi-long term tracking of the first 2 pages of "latest series" to document the frequency with which they are not at the top on the new releases list.
New titles at the top will be marked like this.
Titles that are out of sequence will be marked like this.
Titles that appear to have been changed will be marked like this.
The line marks which series appear in the "latest" section on the front page (everything above it).
There will be no tracking of removed series.

I have partially automated this; but the script must still be manually activated on my end; the site isn't serving anything I wasn't going to get anyway.

I think your investigation might have triggered something.

Out of curiosity, why are you doing this?
Do you expect some sort of bug, or simply to satiate curiosity?
From my end, I will add that the moment someone changes the chapter order manually, they will not appear on the list.

There was several complaints about it from a while back; I hadn't paid too much attention to in until a few days ago, when Equinea started halfway down the second page. I'm mostly just wanting to see how much it is happening for now, and decided to make that public.
If the problem is persistent enough, then I might consider pushing Tony for a fix, but I would want proof of the scale of the issue first.

Thank you for doing this. Neither of my novels ever made it to the main page when I first published them (they were pushed to pg2), so I assume it’s not sorted by date added but by when it’s manually approved.
But I did notice a lot of novels aren’t there at all. Could be due to content guideline violations.

Well, there is a few rules I have found over time, but none of them explain this.
1. Anti-cheat for "latest updates": If you delete and re-post a chapter, rearrange chapters, or release multiple chapters at once, your story will be shoved back to the second page. This is to prevent anyone from constantly hogging the section.
2. Ads on the chapter page are not present if your series is tagged "smut."

There is a theory that scheduling the release of the first chapter might have something to do with it, but that doesn't explain the scale of what we are seeing.

Are you saying that many of our books/works are being pushed aside automatically? What are we supposed to do about it? If someone reports our works, don't we get a say-so as to why someone would report it? This does seem a bit wrong. It does seem like some books are getting fairer treatment than others. And what are we supposed to do if we worked so hard?

Take the "latest updates" anti-cheat rule: it punishes 3 specific actions that could otherwise be used to keep the series on the list, only affects a single chapter at a time, and only for a few hours.

Well, I'm curious about something for sure, if this helps.
"Luana", which is quite tame and doesn't have hardly any adult situations in it doesn't appear on "Updated Series", while another series "50 Shades of Tan", which has unheard of amounts of adult situations, does appear in "Updates". Does that just mean no one has reported it yet? And why would my "tame" one not fit with guidelines?
I'm willing to accept if that's the case and I'll just have to grin and bear it. It just makes it a bit more difficult for me and many others to get noticed.
