I really wished they had done that lol, because it was a brutal 8 months of repeating the alphabet forward and backward. I was nine and it was so weird trying to figure out how to tie English words together and have it make sense in my language and in English. I think I cried the most during that time, it was stressful not knowing how to say anything and the isolation from talking was getting to me. The adult staffs at the school were nice enough to be patient with me, but it was really hard to make sense of English for 2 years. I had a period of time where I legit didn't talk and just listen, and then the moment came when things start to click and I remember watching a lot of cartoons and it really helped out in figuring out how to enunciate properly. Slangs and other nuances were a horror that I would have to figure out over the next 5 years lol.
