I'm looking for a story about evil superheroes

Full disclosure, I'm mainly looking for a story that has the same concept as The Rekoner's Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson.

Basically, humans get supernatural powers, and as anyone can expect, they turn evil. So certain people in the world are dedicated to killing said "superheroes".

For those who have read the series I mentioned, or really anyone familiar with the trope, I'd love a new story.

I had an idea for a story like this, where superpowers become common and society collapses and then various extremist groups take over. The MC basically just fights off super powered dudes with a shotgun until he runs out of ammo, dies, and the story ends.

If you're talking about the comic than the boys is flaming garbage. The TV show is definitely a a step up from the source material.

Idk about novels, but what you are looking for is the same plot as The Boys. So in case you didn't watch this serie yet, you should.

I suppose they would haha. But the superpowered individuals are doing unquestionably evil deeds, so they'd be more like anti-heroes who do bad things to get rid of bad people.

well, if you aren't too closed to the super heroes thingy and you are open to other kind of novels with villains as MC there are plenty of them with anti-hero/villains who are interesting to read, some of them are really good and well designed.

As for the super heroes genre, tbh I don't like it at all so I've no clue of the novels talking about it.

The only super hero stuff I know are the marvel comics from my childhood, the last avengers movies cuz they were too big to not be watched and the serie The Boys (I loved the first season)

Usually the plot is the reverse of this, lol.

Superheroes spring up, the church or a similar organization decides that they are evil and starts a crusade. The Protagonist has to fight against them for their own survival. If you look for things like that you might find what you're looking for.

Xmen; To The Abandoned Sacred Beasts; and some 'Church hunts Evil Witches' anime I watched but don't remember at all. The second one is really good for you, probably.

I haven't read Oscillation; REND; Shade and Flow; or any of the others here... But they should fit what you're looking for, maybe? For the last one, if you click the little gear on the upper right, you can add new tags or genres, in addition to changing your sorting methods.

There's also Songbird and the rest of the stories in the Kammi Kettu setting, but make sure you read the tags before diving in. There's a lot of LGBT+ stuff that might not appeal to some. I picked Songbird first because it's closer to the villainous side of 'heroic' than the rest, but a lot of the characters in that setting straddle the line.
