This is the content of Chapter 18 of my novel "Unknown Equation" published here. The girl discovers that her body carries a magical space, where every door in the endless corridors leads to every corner of the world. Among them, there are over a hundred types of mechanical pills in Room 309, each with a special function. The red mechanical pill, when activated and thrown, will explode automatically after five seconds, generating a temperature of 20,000 degrees, capable of melting most substances. The white pill, when dropped on the ground, will spread out a wave of energy to create a protective shield that can defend against external attacks for five minutes. The translucent pill, when activated, can produce an invisibility effect for ten minutes. The light green pill, when activated, can cause the surrounding area to enter a state of weightlessness. There is also a group of pills that can change the properties of space. When activated, they can affect time and space, achieving effects such as time stop, time acceleration, time reversal, space collapse, and space folding.

18 Comprehensive Test of the Mechanical Orbs’ EffectsUntitled

The mechanical orbs on her bedroom floor, combined with the ones from before, now numbered over a hundred. This huge pile was impossible to hide, and Chajian was getting a headache.

"No, no, this won't do. I've brought out so much equipment from the warehouse, and I can't put it back. I have to find a way to get rid of some of it. I'll find a safe, hidden place tomorrow and test them out."

But where would be a suitable place?

Chajian noticed a computer in her bedroom, turned it on, and checked the map. She found a vacant, ruined area not far west of the repair shop, about the size of a small park.

"Hmm, since it's a ruin, very few people should go there. It seems like a good place to test equipment." Chajian nodded, her mind made up.

The next morning, Chajian woke up early. She first found a shopping bag in the kitchen to hold the equipment that wouldn't fit in her pockets. Then, she went to the mirror in the bathroom and took out an invisibility orb. She pressed the red button in its small indentation.

With a faint pop, a cool sensation seemed to pass through her body. When she looked in the mirror, she was completely transparent. Her reflection was gone. Even when she washed her face, all she could see was splashing water and a wet towel floating in mid-air.

"Wow, I'm really invisible! Now I can sneak out without anyone seeing me."

Chajian was thrilled. Her first time using the equipment was a success. She wondered if the other orbs would be just as interesting when activated. She slapped her face and shook her head. "No, don't think about that now. I'm going to the ruins to test them anyway. Must resist, must resist."

Chajian left the bathroom, shouldered her bag, and ran out of the repair shop towards the ruins.

She had assumed that since it was early morning and she was invisible, no one would notice her. What she forgot was that she had activated the orb in the bathroom; the invisibility effect didn't apply to the bag she had left outside. So, as she ran down the street, all the early-morning joggers saw was a backpack floating through the air. This, of course, caused quite a stir.

"What is that thing? A ghost backpack?"

"Yeah, why is there a backpack but no person?"

The crowd kept their distance, wary of the floating bag. The stray dogs and cats on the street, however, were filled with curiosity about the flying object. In no time, a dozen cats and dogs were gathered behind her, giving chase.

This made Chajian extremely nervous. To keep from being caught, she had no choice but to sprint for her life. A trip that should have taken fifteen minutes, she covered in nine and a half, successfully shaking off the pack of curious animals.

Chajian stopped, dropped her bag, and looked around the ruins, panting heavily. The place was littered with crumbling walls and debris. Wild grass and trees grew rampant, forming a natural screen that made it difficult to see inside from the outside. She felt she had chosen the right spot.

Of course, she was still very cautious. Worried that the ten-minute invisibility effect was about to wear off, she used another orb on herself. The short duration was a bit of a hassle, but luckily, she had brought plenty of them.

Now invisible, Chajian wasn't afraid of running into bad guys. After all, she could see them, but they couldn't see her. She confidently scouted the entire perimeter of the ruins. After confirming that no one—and no small animals—were around, she picked up her bag and walked to the center of the area.

Now the fun began. She had already tested the invisibility orb. Next, she activated a white orb and threw it into the distance. The resulting wave of energy created a protective shield. She tried throwing rocks of all sizes at it, but they all bounced off.

"Hmm, this shield's defense is pretty strong. I wonder if it can withstand a red orb with its 20,000-degree heat." Chajian backed up a good distance, activated a red orb, and hurled it at the shield. An intensely hot red light flared up next to the barrier.

Fortunately, Chajian had been cautious and was standing far away. Even so, she felt the air around her instantly heat up to a searing temperature. She quickly activated a white orb to create a shield around herself, which blocked the intense heat.

Through the transparent shield, she could see what was happening outside. The surrounding broken concrete walls and exposed steel rebar melted and collapsed. Debris and dust filled the air. The first shield, where it had been struck by the searing blast from the red orb, developed a fine web of cracks. The cracks spread, and after multiplying across the surface, the shield finally shattered and disintegrated. However, a second layer was activated within, holding the space inside.

"Looks like one more red orb would have broken through the shield completely."

The shield lasted for five minutes, while the red orb's heat blast only lasted for twenty seconds, so the test of "unstoppable force vs. immovable object" was over quickly.

The light green orb, when activated, could make any affected object weightless. Chajian loved this effect. When she used it on a large boulder, the weightless rock became lighter than a feather. A gentle puff of air was enough to send it flying like a balloon.

Using it on herself was also fun. The moment she became weightless, she remembered to quickly grab a small pebble and put it in her pocket. She didn't want to be blown away by a gust of wind; the pebble was now the source of all her weight. Her body felt light and airy. She could be like a martial arts heroine, tapping her foot lightly on the ground to leap onto a wall two or three meters high. Then, with another jump, her body would float down like a feather.

Dust and leaves drifted slowly past her eyes. Because she was as light as a feather or a cloud, she didn't have to worry about how she landed. Headfirst, or lying flat—it didn't matter. As she gently neared the ground, a light touch of her finger was enough to send her soaring upwards again, only to float slowly back down.

A single feather drifted slowly before her eyes. As she twisted her body in mid-air to land, she saw a pigeon circling in the sky above, cooing incessantly.
