Well, what are the boundaries on this mind control? Can I tell what a person is thinking and change their thoughts? Tweak the neurons in their brain? Does this power have a limited range, duration, or number of targets? Does it require active thought, or can control be maintained and directed unconsciously?
If we go with "no limitations on any of the above" then I'm basically God, so there are a few key areas I'd focus on, all related to min-maxing human civilization like it's a 4X game.
First things first, given how the mind and memories work in general, I would seem to be in a wholly unique position to eliminate some neurological maladies like PTSD and depression, so I'd do that worldwide right off the bat. I can also adjust the priorities of leaders and oligarchs away from amassing more and more wealth and power and towards using what they already have to advance humanity as a whole. Much of the immense wealth and resources being poured into militaries and needless bureaucracy can also be directed instead into reversing climate change and solving similar global or systemic problems.
That brings me to the second area of focus. If I can manipulate people's thoughts and memories, it stands to reason I can also transfer one person's memories and expertise to someone else. If I can do this at scale, everyone in the world can have a single common language and basic mathematics imprinted into them. Communities in the fields of science and engineering will utilize the new universal language and improved funding to greatly accelerate experimentation and collaboration while improving the effectiveness of peer validation and replication of results.
I can also pool the knowledge and insights of experts in various fields, compiling and multiplying human understanding of the universe into the brightest minds wherever I find them. In a pseudo-hivemind fashion, I can also make it possible for people to directly push memories to another person if they want to, though I'm the one actually carrying out the task. This would allow people to truly understand one another, as memories contain not just experienced events but emotions. Anyway, I'd basically be a System for all human knowledge and experiences (if Systems ever took executive action to achieve a certain result).
My personal life would probably just be me trying to keep up with this absolute madness I got myself into, otherwise living like a hermit normal person as much as possible. Maybe I'd write books, maybe I'd be a streamer. I'd definitely maintain a garden. The end goal would be a post-scarcity utopian human hivemind society achieved through technology and genetic engineering that doesn't need my ludicrous superpower to keep it going. I think that would be a hell of a legacy.
By the way, to anyone in the thread jumping immediately to mind-controlling people into fucking you... morally, that makes you no different from Rapist Brock Turner. Keep that in mind.
