My last novel was good idea but I had a hard time actually putting pen to paper if yk what I mean I had a new idea for a prompt but I want feedback and more ideas here is the prompt.

Title: Undecided
Prompt:
A young adult or teen is living a good life unlike many protagonists but then tragedy/being a protagonist strikes and his parents and sister go missing in a terrorist attack and are presumed dead, the protagonist is mourning their presumed death and wishes that he could go back in time to save them or at least get them away from the attack. A new god hears their pleas and decide to help but they are new so they don't exactly know what they are doing. They succeed in sending them back in time but... they accidentally send the protagonist too far back. All the way to the time of the dinosaurs and cavemen! The protagonist has to find a way to fight their way back to the future to save his family.

Everyone has ideas, but not everyone can actually write them. Your idea sounds like something that would be given up quickly. Once you realize that without other humans sent back to the dinosaurs, there will be no dialogue at that point, unless he's taking the goddess with him. Aside from that, you also have to learn about dinosaurs to make it interesting enough.

And where will the MC go back to? The Cretaceous? The Jurassic? The Triassic? Depending on your answer, the dinosaurs seen at those times are vastly different. The Tyrannosaurus Rex did not live during the Jurrassic. And you would not find a Diplodocus during the Cretaceous. If the nerdy stuff doesn't matter to you, there are other challenges. It's man vs nature if a man is sent back in time to the dinosaurs. Is this man immortal? And how will he get back to his family if not? Does the goddess just send him forwards in time after completing some challenge in each era?

Dinosaurs didn't co-exist with cavemen, I mean you're free to bend history however you like, or even call it an alternate reality, but it would be a bit off since dinosaurs are way too op for humans,
also how do you plan him fighting his way back to the future? like asking god to fix their mistake? or is god gonna ignore him? You always need to take an extra step in thinking to figure out whether you can pull it off or not, like the comment above said
I'm currently writing a medieval story "kinda" with supernatural elements and OMG I'm about to lose my hair, with how much research I have to do.
anyway search the internet for ressources and see for yourself if you can do it; personally I can't

A better idea, he gets sent back in time to the renaissance and meets/works with Da Vinci or the early 20th century and works with Tesla where he then has to develop time travel tech. Those would be much more feasible than the dinosaurs and could potentially introduce the grandfather paradox into the story.

The idea origianlly presented is interesting, but the more you think about it, the flatter it falls because there's no real force driving the mc (kinda like having a Green Lantern without his ring).
