I really dislike it when I want to comment on a story but the various websites demand that i make a new profile on /their/ website just so i can make some dumb quip or compliment the author.
I know why the websites do this, it's just a pain in the neck and I wish there was some sort of work-around

There is an easy way to do this, just make comments from non-accounts be anonymous. Cookies track who's coming in and out anyway so making an account doesn't change that fact.

However, by doing this it opens a world where you can just dogpile on a work without any sort of repercussions. Obviously can't have that.

They want you to register because they want you to be a regular there. Also are there sites based on Wordpress?
