I'm trying to change up my novel to grab a wider audience, this means altering the cover image to something more fitting and less generic (and blurry), but also changing the subtitle.
My story is titled Monster Girl Chronicles Book 1: KuliKuli the Nekomata. It's a smut action-adventure character focused journey following a young peasant named Felix caring for a cat girl named KuliKuli. She suffers memory loss and is grateful to start a new life with her new master, but as their relationship grows closer, her haunting past creeps up and their relationship is challenged in life-altering ways as a bigger scheme threatens to change the world.
Specifically, I'm looking at changing the subtitle following Book 1. I was thinking of making it something catchy that plays along her being a cat girl.
My first idea is Book 1: The Nine Lives of KuliKuli. It's cute, gets the idea of her being a cat across, I like it. She has memory loss so it kinda works with her having had a past life that she learns about through the story.
My second idea is Book 1: A Game of Cat and Mouse. Still catchy, only issue is this is a title I have in mind for a future sequel. Not too bad, that sequel won't happen until years later (I have a lot of story ideas pre-planned ahead.) but my main nitpick is that the story doesn't offer any Mouse girls
neither does the planned sequel mind you. Still, I like the name, but but butt! That sequel name accompanies the story well, since the protagonists and antagonist try to outsmart each other in that story. Book 1 doesn't have that same premise here, so catchy name but doesn't fit as well as it would for the sequel.
The third idea is... well to be honest I don't have a third idea for a subtitle. But that's why I wrote this post, to see if you guys could help me come up with any suggestions for the subtitle. Cat-themed is a plus, not mandatory though. Any ideas help!
Edit to add: I just remembered the first chapter title fits as well for a subtitle; Book 1: A Tale of Tails!
