Happy to hear that. Don’t give up on it. The pings here work like this: I get notified if you quote me or @ me. :blob_cookie:

Ummm…

Damn. This doesn't seem like fairly reasonable.

Good luck with your writing nonetheless, nobody deserves the insane dudes dropping in like its a raid.

Maybe I should clarify. The death threats were primarily made on Wattpad and started way before I started using RoyalRoad. I've had one main person I've had direct issues with on RoyalRoad and that was because they followed me to other platforms after I blocked them. Compared to half a dozen or so on Wattpad, it's been much more relaxed on RoyalRoad. I'd say ScribbleHub has already proven to have more jerks than RoyalRoad in my experience.

People telling me things like how I clearly don't know much about numbers for making a dungeon 150-meters by 150-meters per floor with 25 max floors. That's like stacking 25 Walmart supercenters on top of one another and then some. They said it was too small...Then there was the guy who said I was weird for having a good relationship with my MIL and wanting SFW images while assuming I was a man. Then there's also some nutcase out there who just hates Americans... Honestly, I've been here maybe a week and yet I've already had all these run ins with rude individuals...

I've had a few times I've had to contact mods on RoyalRoad. They've always gotten back to me within 24 hours and have helped me resolve issues and been reasonable every time. This despite having a 3 man team. Meanwhile, Wattpad has way more people and yet is using AI to moderate and it has led to stories and accounts being deleted without warning or cause. Especially LGBTQ content, but also other romance series are being taken down and it's led to authors seeking out other sites to use who never would have considered it before.

Just to clarify, I'm not trying to detract from OP's experience. I do think things could have been worded better by the mod in question. However, much as I suspected it would, they explained the situation and the mods cleared their story as safe to keep on the site. That should be considered the mods being reasonable and doing the right thing in the end. OP is still free to feel upset and do as they wish with their story, but villainizing a whole site over a minor issue with one person who is probably overworked doesn't help anyone.

I'm not making them villains just because of one issue. Yes, the report was a trigger point since he blatantly lied, I won't lie about that. But even before that, there are/were people that write comments/reviews that make no sense/are insulting for no apparent reason. When I compare it to SH who are just complete sweeties, it's a day night difference. (on SH I got only 2 BS/insulting comments (And even those were deleted within a few minutes) out of 4000, which is simply unbelievable to me.)

It just feels like the whole RR site is skewed(?) to entitle people. They can write whatever they want, if they don't like the story and if you won't lick their bumhole and submit to them, they will report you.(Not just talking about my experience, but from what I read from the few kind readers on RR that this is daily occurrence) Reports don't need any evidence to cause issue for the administrators/authors wasting both of their time for pretty much nothing.

What I will give them credit where credit is due is the speed, indeed. For how small their team is, the speed is incredible.

Other than that, there is not much to praise if I'm being honest...

Meng Hao walked into the McDonald's. The cultivator taking his order gave a derisive snort, but Meng Hao did not really care, because he had repressed his aura down to the Single Patty Realm, and a fool would not be able to tell his true level of burger eating.

"Give me... a Happy Meal!"

The cultivator's face flickered before he finally regained his composure and laughed. "You couldn't afford a Happy Meal. Get lost! Don't you see that there are Double Quarter Pounder Realm eaters waiting behind you?"

Meng Hao slapped his bag of holding and threw 80 billion spirit McDonald's coupons onto the counter, causing an earthquake which demolished half of the restaurant. Everyone dropped their jaws. None could see how this was possible!

"I'll take that Happy Meal with a side order of fries, " Meng Hao said. He was as calm as the ocean in a painting of an insanely calm ocean. "And let me see your manager!"

The cashier cultivator coughed up a mouthful of ketchup. He simply could not handle Meng Hao's killing intent, because he was only at the Quarter Pounder with Cheese realm himself. Even though Meng Hao had suppressed his aura, because he had cultivated the Heavenly Burgin' Qi, this was enough to kill people a few levels higher if he truly wanted.

It was then that another man which a much more fierce aura stepped forward. "You dare make trouble here?"

"P... Patriarch Hamburglar!"

Patriarch Hamburglar was 99 cents of the way into the Big Mac Realm, plus tax! Meng Hao was pushed back two feet, knocking over a soda machine. Powerade Mountain Berry Blast geysered outward, killing several onlookers.

Of course, Mayor McCheese saw all this happen through the window.

Meng Hao coughed up a mouthful of blood, snorted, constricted his pupils, and then his expression went calm. He unleashed the aura of 64 patties, condensed down to a 2 patty stack that could fit into his mouth!

Mayor McCheese coughed up a mouthful of cheese. His pupils constricted.

"Is this... Seeking the McRib stage??"

Meng Hao had the gentle air of a scholar, but it wouldn't stop him from killing several people in a McDonald's.

"Burger Devouring Scripture! I'm Lovin' It!"

With the first keyword of the Burger Devouring Scripture, everyone below the early Quarter Pounder With Cheese stage exploded into purple mist. The light of the immense heavenly burger shone down with the contours of a golden arch as 9 illusory burgers floated around Meng Hao's body, which is probably an important xianxia number that matches the number of lakes in some sacred Chinese province I've never heard of. But that was only a fraction of Meng Hao's power. He waved his arm, bringing forth thirty more cultivation techniques that hadn't appeared in over 400 chapters!

"Heavenly Tribulation Fries! Eastern Everburning Egg McMuffin! Fruit Smoothie Guillotine! Soul McCafe Mocha Incarnation!"

Meng Hao's expression was the same as ever as he slapped his bag of holding, and brought out his karmic ketchup packet, Fry Cook Lord medallion, seventeen different wooden time spatulas, a five-coloured resurrection coupon, the silk burger wrapper, various souls of lightning McNuggets that he may or may not still have, and his mask of the legacy of Ronald McDonald. Oh, and the image of a flying Chicken Snack Wrap dragon appeared. Remember that? It was basically his Main Thing at the start of the novel, but quietly faded into irrelevance. Until now!

All of this takes some time to describe, but actually happened in the space of only a few breaths.

"What! Impossible!"

Meng Hao wanted to summon the parrot as well, but it was too overcome with eroticism by the purple fur depicted on a nearby poster of Grimace, and was busy drilling out a glory hole straight through the poster, and the wall it was pinned to, with its strong parrot erection.

But it was more than enough. The Hamburglar's soul flew out and was absorbed into his mask! He screamed as his body was destroyed completely.

Meng Hao brushed off his robe and swept up his spirit coupons and everyone's bags of holding which probably didn't have any cool sh*t inside unless I write him into a corner later, and anyways, don't worry about it for now. He surveyed the rubble that was all that remained of the McDonald's.

"Guess I'll be taking that Happy Meal... to go!"

Also SH won't take one accusation of a report as a basis to burn your house down as you start questioning if posting a novel was a good choice to begin with
How the hell did AYM'S quote get there....

I honestly just thought it was a language barrier... but once you have written it like that, I can now see the differences. Thank you for enlightening me~! :blob_melt:
:blob_neutral: I was just genuinely curious, though, how it ended. If your story was ultimately read or not. Or if they accepted your reply. It wasn't that clear based on your initial statement.

The whole thing was just back and forth, me posting evidence and what happened in my story at what times, he asked question about sexualization of main protagonist, about Mei, rape and so on. They accepted everything and they won't make any moves against my story, but if it's later found that anything else is found, they will delete it without possible appeal.

:blob_hmm: That sounds confusing ... I guess, they read it/checked it then and you were right about empty victory. More like on probation.

They didn't read it, as far as I know, they just checked the information and descriptions that I gave them. Or at least that's what I understood from those conversations. :blob_dizzy:

:blob_hmm: That doesn't make any sense to me, though. Unless, I remember wrong, they gave you the possibility to address the issues presented in the report or they will check your novel for content violating the terms and if they find such content, then they delete without any possible appeal. That is how I understood it.

Now you have explained your case, yet you still lose your right to address further issues. So you effectively ended up at phase 2 without the benefit of phase 1. :blob_neutral: ??????

Yes, that is correct. I have addressed that issue in the report:
This was the exact report against the fiction: The main character is a doll-like one year old kitsune. She is “reincarnated”. However, she acts like an innocent baby beyond chapter 20, and everyone constantly talks about how much they want to bang her and how hot the 1 year old is. I tried to talk to the author about this but he seems to be dead set on this. It’s disturbing. The characters in this novels are basically rapists who are held back from fucking the MC by real life rules against minors depicted having sex.
By having conversation with the mod and what is in my story and at which points. What kind of ages and mental ages they have and with quotes and everything. Due to this and me providing evidence with chapters included, he possibly concluded that more actions are not needed. In his last ticket he send me:
Then all is well. Do note that if the fiction is later found to be in violation of our ToS despite this ticket, it will be deleted without a chance to correct it.
I hope this explains everything?

It was all very clear. I was just surprised ... by the bad deal you got there at the end.

I'm not going to bother with the back and forth anymore about how sites compare to others. My experience says SH's audience sucks too, but not everyone will have the same experiences.

Regardless, I think everyone should make it a point to backup their stories by keeping it in multiple places. Word documents, multiple sites, etc. There are plenty of free sites out there that you can post to, so the big thing is that you just need to make sure you have constant access to all of your work so it's easier to change sites should the need arise. Wattpad, RoyalRoad, Inkitt, and ScribbleHub are the best four I've seen audience-wise, but there are other options too. Make sure if you ever use something like WebNovel or other pay-to-read sites you NEVER sign a contract with them. If you want money, use a separate site like Patreon to direct your traffic to and just sell early access chapters and PDF copies of finished volumes. That way you are the only one who gets to own the copyright and you maintain your own IP.
