As mentioned in the title, I'm a huge fan of monster stories with non-humanoid leads hence why I tried to start one of my own with a Dragon MC. I'm not new to writing and this is not my first story, but it is my first 'monster mc' one so I'd appreciate a little bit of feedback since I want to improve on this area. Link to the story below, Cheers!

Very nice story. Does he speak like an antromorphic character or does he use telepathy to speak?

So far he is unable to speak, he merely communicates using intentions with his siblings, maybe in the future he might gain a telepathic ability.

I thought of writing one of these where the mc gets sent back with a bunch of his friends and they all get turned into monsters but mc doesn't. Give him all kinds of nightmare fuel, especially if some of them went completely crazy. Put him in a situation where he has to care for them.

Dang, ngl that sounds pretty interesting, I’d definitely read that, though i’d prefer if even the mc was turned into a monster.

No, I would have a childhood crush of his made one and force him into a human. I would also make it a world very hostile towards monsters and give him a really dark set of powers. Make him chose what he is willing to throw away, then you can have the childhood friend act as a secondary character. It would make an amazing growth story, especially if they had to do inhumane things to evolve.

Definitely go the antihero route. Have him drag along the rest of the monsters since he has her anyway. Maybe make the MC have some form of limited mind control or an illusionist. That way he could talk to the characters via telepathy. I'm honestly sad I decided to write Armut, the dollmaker now...
