The concept of having a close friendship with a coworker of the opposite sex where you help each other out sounds fine and dandy to me, but associating that in itself with marriage feels weird. Society just likes to color all non-familial male-female relationships as romantic or sexual, and that does give me the ick. You can be friends. It's fine
