I have read a lot of stories in which the MC has time traveled/reincarnated or has some sort of power that connects him to the modern day and a lot of those novels end up having next to nothing to do with the MC using modern knowledge. Maybe a tiny bit here and there, which ends up disappointing me. I'm looking for novels where the MC puts his modern knowledge to actual and consistent use. There are too many novels where the MC being from modern day is honestly pointless, and would have no affect on the novel itself if the MC was just another normal guy. Too many times, they never use an ounce of knowledge they've gleamed from their former life. Really pointless.

People abuse the isekai trope to make the MC more relatable for readers because they're hacks that can't write for shit without relying on pop culture references.
There are a couple if you look for them. Just from what you can read from scribblehub alone.
That Time an American was Reincarnated in Another World - extensive use of modern knowledge but only later on.
Steel and Mana - use of modern knowledge to improve his territory
The Runesmith - only a few inventions because high level production classes can do what machines can do just as fast
Serum - MC doesn't use his knowledge much but a different isekai'd character does
Also there's a bunch of JP novels that utilize modern knowledge. Pretty much a hit or miss but the good ones at least know what they're writing about.
Not that shocking because unless you extensively studied this shit ot have an eidetic memory you're not gonna memorize shit on gunpowder ingredients and ratios, how to make a gun, well, concrete mixtures, steam engines, farming techniques, etc. You're gonna be a dumbass with only decent arithmetic to rely on in a world where your only way of shitting is digging a hole and squatting over it.

Or maybe you can freely travel between the two worlds or introduce internet and just google up what you want to find

I never liked those novels, as knowledge is so extremely specialised and interdisciplinary today that it is practically impossible to replicate outside of a modern context. :blob_cookie:

If looking for an actual, physical book, the only good examples I know are Leo Frankowski's Conrad Stargaard novels (The Crosstime Engineer, The Flying Warlord, Lord Conrad's Lady, one I can never remember the title to and a fifth one that came out after I thought the series was over) and Napolean Disentimed.
I never caught the title, but my wife was listening to one on PocketFM about a modern day nurse who died and woke up in a medieval world and uses her knowledge to save lives, set up a clinic, and generally annoy the status quo.

Let me present one big fav of mine : Great Tang idyll

1) mc AND heroine
1.5) both from modern times AND no misunderstandings / know that the other is there. No bs shenanigans that each is clueless for 500ch
2) Modern knowledge.
3) Shota - Loli.
4) Lowkey hiding / No bs "oh wow i expose myself bc my author is a moron that dont know what to write nor know how to write a lowkey mc"
5) Its a old series, that means it doesnt suffer from lack of words/chaps. Its a old series that means its not fastfood writing. Its a old series that means the author is an author that had maturity and not a crappy brain abusing smartphones. Its a old series that means they write and detail well. Its a old series that means the characters feel alive and real. Its a old series that means even the side characters are giga important. Its a old series that means unlike fastfood CNs you are sometimes-often moved. etc
6) Its A GIGA SERIES that spit on the C#P.
Mentioning corruption.
AND
Mentioning how the police is corrupt to the point he bribed people / put his own members inside it. Bribed the "superior" policeguy of FL
AND
a MC saying : I dont like-care of China, i only care of its inhabitants
Quite frightening and lucky that the author wasnt arrested.

7) MC + FL are very smart and know human psychology/nature

-----------
If you TRULY want MODERN KNOWLEDGE NEAR EACH X chapters, read this ! (warning the quality is so high, that you will feel bad reading others later, just like eating tasty food to tasteless food)

Another series is : Mohist Datang
(lazy to write more)

also a giga big fav of mine. and also a "old series" of giga quality. The kind that could crush 10 nowadays-CNs that go for eyeballs.

Especially liking the part where MC buy a book from "west" and publish it in newspaper :
Inspirated from real story/event.
Socrates was asked "what is love?" he replied "go pick the best wheat in this big field but you can only pick one and cant move back"
the person returned empty : "I found some very beautiful ones but each times i thought i could find better ones, but later on only found bad ones, and finally returned empty"
Socrates : That is love.
THIS.
is an example of a good CN's author.
They praise their country but also praise other countries.
(lot of citizens+emperor understood that other countries also had big "sages" like their Confucius AND understood that MC buying stuff with LOT OF GOLD wasnt a stupid decision but a very smart one / MC did a big )

This story fits well, telling the tale of someone reincarnated as a German citizen, who then joins the military and participates in World War II.

Here, you will be presented with the true reality of war, along with factual insights into military strategy.
