How would you write rumours?

Girl 1: Hey, hey, have you heard about the story of black jasmine on the night mountain?
Girl 2: Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, tell me, tell me.

Or, another classic,
"I was just surfing on the internet, and stumbled upon a forum talking about a recipe, which when done correctly, can summon the archduke of hell."

So, what other way can you have your MC come to know of a rumour, which adults shouldn't know, cuz that will ruin stuff.

Social media is always a fun idea. Let them stumble onto it thinking it is someone else's problem. How ironic would that be if you were laughing at some loser, come to find out it's you. Or if another person just asks you about it directly.

Example:

"Hey, did you know they use glass to make instant ramen crunchier?"

I'm not sure, but I've heard from a friend who's told by his cousin's wife that the best way is to just interject it in between with natural conversation. If it feels artificial, try having a third party influence the subject (like an object of interest coming into view, or veering the conversation towards it in a planned process).

Like I said, I'm not sure. I've heard it from my friend's cousin's wife, who was probably told this by someone else too.

Just take the truth and pop it in the oven. Add some salt and pepper.

If the rumor is about the MC, you could do the stuff where everyone suddenly act differently toward him (looking at him weird, whispering when looking at him, etc )

My MC would be in a bar, silently sitting with a beer (or juice) looking like he just wanted to plow down the stress, and then a bunch of rowdy citizens would come through the front door—orders some hot girls and Ale—then start talking about certain kinds of rumors. After they leave, the MC learns of every rumor the now-drunken citizens talked about and decides to check if it is true. Either way, putting all rumors in a dialogue form is bad—usually, it should be in a paragraph form.
