Have you tried asking?

No seriously, if you actually want some help with anything, ask people! Put a note in a new chapter, make a slightly different forum post than this, join some writing-based discord servers or something. I'm sure there's plenty of people who would be willing to help

Would also be better if you try to join literary circles. Just observe and be careful with whom you're going to associate with.

This is not for the faint of heart, though. I don't have any experience in it but the circles of people in/trying to break into traditional publishing can be brutal in their criticism. Basically, if you've ever been on tumblr unironically I don't recommend trying that

No, I mean, in SocMeds. Traditional literary circles are full of arrogant people, so I don't recommend it as well.

Maybe I just didn't elaborate on my earlier reply, since I'm in a middle of an exam. But yes, informal literary groups in SocMed.

bro go take your test, we can wait lmao

But yeah, going on twitter/other websites like SH can be a good place to find people. I'd also reccomend finding people who write stuff as close to your specific interests as possible. Like for instance, I used to be a part of this tiny community who wrote smutty GL fanfic of this one mobile game that has long-since been shut down. If you can get something that specific to your interests, you should have a lot more success getting advice and stuff

I don't have money nor friends willing to give feedback on my work so I'm wondering how to get a beta to help out on plot points or something
Change that mind set to a grindset!
But seriously. This is GL, right? If you want to bag a beta female, just hop on doublelist and check the couples seeking female in your area then bang her man in front of her to show dominance. It's been a while, but I think it's free.

But isn't there a sub forum where you can just ask people to proof read your writing? Might be less work than getting a beta.

I am my own beta reader, since I write and read with different mindset it's easy and I can point out my own mistakes. I am my biggest critic lol

What I do, is to watch who read one of my stories to the end, and then to ask them for feedback. So, just ask. But ask somebody who finished your story. They will have some good advice.

What the hell is alpha beta gamma delta is meaning that you folks are talking about? Ps: I know what a beta tester means. I can guess the alpha one could probably mean

They're the letters of the Greek alphabet. For beta readers, it's just the same as saying they're the second person to read the story, after the one who wrote it (alpha reader), as you know.

For the use in this conversation... There was a pseudo-scientific paper published that said wolves lived in packs formed around an Alpha wolf and several subordinate wolves.

People really liked the idea and applied it to everything. So an Alpha is a dominant, leader type person. Then it either ends at Beta as the losers that follow Alphas around, or desirable traits trickle down from there one letter at a time.

Obviously it's all bullshit, but again, people like it. It's easy.
