when i first started writing, i noticed i would get fifty to a hundred people checking my books every day. now i'm lucky if fifteen people are checking my most recent book every day. I'm guessing there's been changes to the algorithm for the sight, but there might be ways to get noticed more. I realized shameless advertising is the key. I will show you the way:

1. Create another account and post a thread looking for a specific book (your book) and reply with your main account with the link to your book.
2. Create another account and post a thread reporting your book for being an unauthorized translation or stolen. Reply with your main account with proof that it's not stolen.
3. Create another account, write a story with only 1 chapter then post a thread asking people for a review/shoutout swaps. Reply with your main account and participate.
4. Get your book rate limited (shadowbanned) and post a thread in bug reports asking Tony to remove the ban. Don't forget to give a link to your book.
5. Same as 4, but pretend that your book don't appear in search.

I am convinced that it is based purely on luck.

how do you tell if your series is shadowbanned? Because my series doesn't show up in "latest updates" until it's on the 2nd or 3rd page, then it shows up like it's been there all along.

It's a little irritating, but I know this happens to a number of other authors as well.

There is no shadowban. It's a myth.
There's no such thing as getting banned for posting too many chapters all at once. I've seen other people say it exists but I've never seen such a feature as I've never implemented it :blobrofl:

Alright everyone step back *cracks neck* let's do this again, first find out everyone's location, I mean their love life likes and dislikes know what their laundry basket is like without them knowing. Live in their house, the attic under their bed just somewhere they don't usually check, I recommend the walls.

Now the fun part, subliminal messaging, mess with their history and copy paste their weird shit when the discover you in their home, put your story in their history so it'll always be recommended and of they don't read... Well... You know where they live...

But in all honesty there is no secret sauce, just make sure you've got all the tags you want in, checkout other popular similar stories and learn from them.

It will take time it took me some time but your will will attract people with your tastes so long as you keep going.

A lot of people make a big deal about getting new readers, but that's really not the thing you gotta worry about IMO :blob_sweat: People's focus should really be on retaining the readers they have:blob_cookie:. Even if you only get a single new reader per chapter, if you can retain the ones you have, you'll be happy :blob_melt:

Just treat them well, give them hugs and maybe some kisses and hopefully they'll pity you enough to stick around. At least it worked for me lol:blob_uwu:

The trick is to filter enough genres so your books appear on the trending (for you) from time to time, giving just enough of an ego boost to survive another day.

:meowsip: To this day, I try to get into trending, yet I fail time and time again.

:blob_evil_two: Does somebody else also feel that somehow always the same stories end up being there? :blob_hmm:

Let me tell you the secret. Under the light of the full moon, you must prepare an altar made entirely of best-selling books. Then you must offer a sacrifice to the writing god of precisely 5 oz of ink, three pages of your own writing, and the first tear you shed due to lack of readership. Then you must say the magic words, ‘umba bumba, umba bumba, readers and comments without end.’ You then need to do a small dance in front of the altar for no less than one minute and no more than three. Then turn in a circle three times to the left, one time to the right, clap your hands, and you're done. You will definitely get lots of readers going forward.

1. Why is this in Artists rather than ... well, ANYWHERE else on the site?

2. I have never seen my stuff in "New" and only once in "Trending"
